GINGHAM FOR SUMMER

Good morning everyone and happy Friday, today’s post is all about gingham. My first gingham purchase was a pair of shorts. Since then I have added a few more pieces to my closet. There are so many variations of the gingham print out there so you don’t have to stick to the black and white. Although that happens to be the print that I am most drawn too! Take a scroll down and have a look at a few gingham pieces that I have curated and let me know which ones you prefer.

DRESSES IN GINGHAM

Let’s begin with dresses shall we, ideal for the summer months and can also be transitioned into the autumn months too depending on the style of the dress. Now you can style the gingham dress in so many different ways, my go-to is with some flat sandals, flip flops, trainers or a pair of espadrilles. As for the bag I would go fo some sort of basket, raffia or wicker and of course not forgetting a pair of statement worthy sunglasses to complete the look.

GINGHAM BOTTOMS

Next and onto gingham bottoms, whether it’s a pair of trousers, culottes, skirt or a pair of shorts again great for summer in the linen material. Now my culottes are from Phase Eight and I opted to style mine here with my black Castaner espadrilles. With cropped trousers or culottes I find that shoes with with a little heel works rather well for me. Like I said earlier you could alternatively style the culottes with some flat sandals or trainers. When it came to my top I decided to go for these black shoulder padded tee. Love the monochromatic look so this ties in wonderfully. Then I grabbed my cream Gabbi bag from JWPEI and my black Dior Sunglasses to complete my outfit.

SWIMSUITS IN GINGHAM

Now if you are not into gingham, I would suggest opting for a swimsuit instead. Personally I find that they are great to experiment with patterns or colours! You could easily mix and match with a bikini and see how you get on! Here are a few bikinis and swimsuits to get you started.

Being such a classic, it’s quite surprising I don’t have many gingham items in my wardrobe. I definitely have to rectify this by at least acquiring a gingham dress. Loving your culottes, which you’ve once again styled to perfection! xxx

Oh, I love gingham…it just screams summer, doesn’t it?! I’ve just made a top out of turquoise gingham, and I have a yellow gingham sundress on the go. The trousers look lovely on you…I may have to make myself a pair!

You’re styling your gingham like a BOSS, Lovely! I appreciate gingham fabric but I find it a little too cute or twee for my personal taste. It just doesn’t quite work on me.

Need to break out my gingham and wear it more before summer is gone!! You always have the most interesting silhouettes in your looks. The lines and shape of that top, your bag, the sunglasses. Love the angles and lines of the individual pieces and how they complement the gingham. Always LOVELY!!

Gingham is one of my favorite patterns for summer. I’ve had/have black, blue, red, and pink gingham. 🙂 You look beautiful, Lovely! You always do! 🙂

Such a cute look! I like the idea of pairing gingham with a straw/raffia handbag.
