HOW TO STYLE A PINK TOP

Good morning everyone, happy Independence day to all my American friends. Today’s post is on how to style a pink top. I wasn’t a huge fan of wearing pink, maybe it was to do with the fact that pink is always associated with girls. Growing up I was never drawn to the colour pink and on top of that I was also a tomboy. It’s not until a few years ago that I started buying a few pink pieces. Once in a while I will find myself drawn to a pink item and this top is one of them. So I thought I would show you all one way I would style a pink top. I have also curated a few pink tops for you all, so do let me know if any of them takes your fancy!

STYLE WITH WHITE

What drew me to this top was the sleeves, I am a sucker for statement sleeves. The top is from Zara and there is also a matching pair of trousers that goes with it. I wasn’t brave enough to go for the full pink look at this time. So here I decided to style the top with my white high waisted shorts which happen to be from Zara also. I tend to find that white and pink work rather well together.

If you’re starting out with a pink piece my suggestion is to pair it with something white/neutral. This just allows the pink to pop! When it came to styling which pair of shoes to team with my pink top I yet again opted for my lace-up Castaner espadrilles. They are my Spring Summer shoes that I wear on repeat, just take a look at a few of my previous posts to see. Finally to finish the outfit I wore my white framed Carrera aviator sunglasses, again opting for a neutral colour.

COLOUR BLOCKING

If on the other hand you are someone who embraces pink and loves to wear it then you could style the top by colour blocking. Why not opt for a red bottom say like a pair of trousers, in my opinion red and pink looks gorgeous together. Or you could style it with the colour of this season green which would also look great!

GO TONAL

Another option for styling a pink top would be to go for a tonal outfit. So we are talking about shades of pinks that work together. This is a great way to makes an outfit look so much more put together. Here I would opt for a pink linen pair of trousers or a skirt maybe one shade lighter. I would try and find a blazer in the same tone or shade as the trousers/skirt and then drape it over the shoulders.

PINK TOPS

Here are a few pink tops that are great for summer and there is a mix of tones to suit everyone!

I was the same way. I always thought pink was too girly and meant I wasn’t strong. But I’m making up for lost time lately, and have added many pink tops to my closet!

Great tips, colour blocking is great when you have a bold colour. I don’t really own much pink, only pastels really. Love your pick from Zimmerman though x

Love the shade of pink and the dramatic draping on that statement blouse! It’s perfect with the paper bag waist shorts. And both for Zara, what a nice surprise. You look stunning!

That was the same for me: I used to LOATHE pink when I was younger, and now I embrace it! I adore the ginormous sleeves of your top, Lovely – they are so fun! I like it styled with white, but I agree on a tonal pink, and a big YES to red or green with it. Fab outfit!

I was a tomboy growing up too, but I love the color pink! The dramatic sleeves on this top is very eye catching. Love it, Lovely! 🙂
