Good morning everyone, today’s post is on wearing black during the summer months. Now I am talking about black linen dresses in particular. I know black is a colour some people steer away from during the summer months due to the fact that they retain heat a little bit more than other colours. But I personally don’t think that should stop us from wearing the colour. Take it from someone who lives in a country wear it is extremely hot and I still enjoy wearing my black dresses. So I thought I would do a selection of black linen dress, do let me know what you think.
Right so this midi linen dress that I am wearing is from Phase Eight a must-have dress in my opinion as it’s versatile and comes with these gorgeous puff sleeves and playful peplum hem. A light weight dress that can easily see me going from daytime to through to night. Such a comfortable and easy dress to wear!
When looking for black linen dresses opt for feminine elements like ruffles and puff sleeves which will make your outfits look much more lighter. Another option would be to go for dresses that flash a hint of skin. The likes of strapless, Bardot and off the shoulder dresses work really well as well as cut outs too! The key to wearing black during the summer is to opt for lighter fabrics and linen is the ideal material to go for.
When it came to styling the midi linen dress I decided to go for my caramel sandals from Dune London . I find tan and black works beautifully together. Next I grabbed my tan raffia bag which is also from Phase Eight. A raffia, wicker or basket bag looks great with almost any summer outfit for a day time look in my opinion. Finally to complete my outfit I wore my black square frame Dior sunglasses.
BLACK LINEN DRESSES
Like I mentioned earlier I find a basket, wicker or raffia bag to be a must-have for the summer months and for going away on vacation. They are so handy for the beach or just for everyday wear. So here are a few of my current favourites.
