Good morning everyone, hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Today’s post is about adding a little edge to an outfit using socks. I remember when I was a little girl my mum used to wear socks with her sandals, not for fashion but because her feet were cold. She didn’t care that it wasn’t fashionable which I really admired. I didn’t think wearing socks with sandals was going to be a trend as such. So yes was a little surprised at first, I wanted to take this trend and give it my own twist.

You don’t have to just take my word for it, the sock and sandal trend was seen throughout SS20 collections. Dad sandals paired with classic white calf socks at Chalayan. Platform sandals and socks styled with lace dresses at Anna Sui. Fendi also had platforms teamed with finely ribbed socks.

Now you can also try this in the comfort of your own homes too. Why not give it a go, you can be casual and laid back. The perfect time to try out the right combination for you.

So here I am wearing these net socks from Swedish Stockings. As I am currently living in a hot country this pair is ideal for me. The net socks instantaneously give my outfit the edge I am looking for. I went for an all white outfit and accessorised it with black. My shorts are a few years old and are from Zara. The white shirt is from Nackiye, I do love a voluminous white shirt or blouse. To give it a little more oomph I decided to wear my fedora hat with my mirrored aviator sunglasses. Finally to complete my look I wore a pop of red on my lips and grabbed my mini Jacquemus bag.

If the net socks are not your thing why not opt for knee high ones instead. So many styles and variations to get your hands on. Also great for those colder months!

Or you could stick to the regular ankle socks, but why not go for something a little different then black or white. Specially as we are spending so much time at home it is the perfect time to experiment and see what works for you and step out of that comfort zone.

There are certainly some cute pairs of sock available, even if I have never worn them the way you do. But then again, I do not possess your endless legs! You’re such a style icon, Lovely! xxx

It’s a trend that comes back every few seasons, but I think it needs shapely legs and courage.

That last pose is amazing – so fun and it shows your humour. ๐Ÿ™‚

As noted before, I’ll give the socks/shoes a pass. I did the little sock trend back in 1985 (!!) and it’s always been either very retro or old-lady-ish to me. You look amazing – funny how being younger this works in a more ironic way. ;-P
