HOW TO CREATE A LITTLE DRAMA

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday. Today’s post is on creating a little drama with your outfit. It really can be easy and I have a few suggestions using tops that will just do that. I love to add some uniqueness to my outfits so that it gives it that twist and statement worthy look I am going for.

DRAPED TOPS

Let me begin with my Amanda top that I am wearing, this is what gives my outfit that little drama I am looking for. Absolutely adore the asymmetric longline draped contrast top with the cross over back. Simple yet striking at the same time, I mean what’s not to love right!

Brand alert the Amanda top is from a brand called Aissata Ibrahima. They are a London based ready-to-wear brand focusing on breaking down traditional boundaries in gendered apparel.

With the ability to provide strength in femininity, delicacy to masculinity and narrowing the divide in design perceived as separately male and female. Aissata the founder launched her namesake label in November 2019. She has worked with design teams for various London brands and has a wealth of experience in Luxury fashion.

The vision of the brand is to create pieces that encourage individuality whilst focusing on craftsmanship. The pieces have been inspired by menswear silhouette and an added elegance with edge. Also the brand is very much focused on playing their part in maintaining a sustainable model. Hence the reason for all their pieces currently being made to order. They want to ensure that they only make garments that are required and this plays a pivotal role in their waste reduction.

Finally they they provide a custom & bespoke service too. Whatever the occasion maybe together with the creative director you can collaborate in bringing your vision to life and be involved in the process. From the start by choosing the fabric to the finish.

STYLED

So when it came to styling the Amanda top I wanted to keep the bottom very simple. So I opted for these high waisted trousers from April & Alex. They are in the cropped skinny style and works really well with the top. My choice of shoes are these nude sandals from Steve Madden. Just love how these give me the elevation and elongate my legs at the same time.

As for the accessories I kept them all black. So that all the focus on the top, first up I wore my fedora hat from Whistles. Next I put on my Azzedine Alaia sunglasses and finally completing my look I grabbed my Jacquemus mini bag. So there you have it, creating a little drama with a draped top.

This is such a fabulously high fashion look. I don’t know if I could EVER pull it off (I’m much more of a cozy comfort over chic style kinda gal) but I love seeing how you rock it. The asymmetrical hem is definitely dramatic and beautiful!

I absolutely love this top! I like this idea of creating a little drama to outfits – I usually do so with items that have interesting sleeves or topping the whole outfit with bold accessories. I think I need more tops like these though! You always have the chicest looks!
