HOW TO STYLE AN EASY AND CHIC OUTFIT IN BLACK

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today’s post is on an easy monochrome outfit. Now my closet mainly consists of black and white items of clothing I’m not even going to lie. But now and a gain I do wear colour and you would have seen that from my previous posts. But I always find my self drawn to a black head to toe look. I guess it’s a fail safe and one that doesn’t take much thought when it comes to styling.

Black is chic and effortless and can be very easy to style. As I have mentioned earlier I do take risk with colours. How about you? Do you like to take risks? Take a scroll down to have a look at a few of my current favourite black pieces that I am loving and do let me know which ones you like!

BLACK DRESSES

So let’s begin with dresses, the one that I am wearing is from Phase Eight. I love how versatile and easy it is, great for meetings or for heading out to lunch or just running everyday errands. What caught my eye was the scalloped detailing on the collar and cuffs of the dress. I adore how simple and chic it looks on, here I have added a wide belt to cinch in my waist. Next I opted for my knee high suede boots from Kurt Geiger, these are my go-to if you didn’t already know. Last but not least to complete my look I am wearing my black Azzedine Alaia sunglasses and my Jacquemus mini bag.

BOOTS

Black boots for me are an essential as they work with almost any outfit. The problem for me is finding that right fit as they always tend to be too wide at the top. Specially when it comes to knee high boots, so when I came across these I ended up purchasing two pairs. I am so glad that I did as they are so comfortable and I wear them constantly during autumn winter.

BLACK COATS

Moving on and onto black coats which is another staple for me. Again it is an easy piece to pair with or throw on top of your outfit. A classic black coat will see you for years to come and not go out of style. Pair it with a casual outfit as well as a dressed up one too. The options are endless, so many ways to wear the black coat.

BLAZER

Just like the coat a black blazer is also a must and again one that is versatile and works with nearly everything. An oversized blazer is ideal as you can layer underneath it. Also it can elevate a casual outfit instantly in my opinion.

I love black and I have to stop myself from buying it sometimes. I often feel like I’m breaking some sort of unspoken fashion rule if I do color on color, even with black. It’s time we stop over thinking it and just do it, because, as you prove, the look is highly chic. Love the slouchy boots!

This is an awesome outfit! Before retiring I had a lot of black in my closet for all the reasons you mentioned. It’s easy to whip up a business casual look when you start with black. But now, I have fewer black items and have really embraced all the vivid colors. It’s easier to do when there are no demands for specific styles.

Black always looks sophisticated, and black dresses are a staple of the elegant woman’s wardrobe. The dress you are wearing here, has cuteness in abundance as well, with its white collar and cuffs. The tall boots are giving this outfit a certain edge. Just fabulous! xxx

I seldom do black head-to-toe, but I do have a fair bit of it in my closet. For me – because I’m really a colour gal when it comes down to my preferences – black garments have to be completely perfectly classic (like a cashmere sweater or leather skirt) or have some really interesting detail. I have a bit of a black skirt obsession! πŸ™‚

    This is a fun outfit!
