OCCASION WEAR DRESS EDIT

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today’s post is on occasion wear dresses, now I know some of you are in lockdown. Well who say’s you can’t dress up at home, I know I will be regardless. So I thought I would create a list of some of my favourite dresses and brands that I have been currently loving. Who doesn’t want to look their best and feel special for certain occasions! Personally I feel these brands will help do just that.

NADINE MERABI

Let me begin with Nadine Merabi, well what can I say other than that I am totally in love with her dresses. This dress that I am wearing is from the brand and boy oh boy does it make a statement. The CARA dress is the perfect party dress. It is figure-hugging with an asymmetric floor sweeping drape, wrap detail that comes in a mini style. This show stopping silhouette is crafted from shimmering velvet fabric which has been covered in delicate, hand embroidered sequins and metallic thread embroidery. If you’re looking to make an impact this the dress for you. Not only does it come in black but also in white and red.

ROTATE BIRGER CHRISTENSEN

What I love about Rotate is that their dresses are fun and quirky and statement worthy too. You would have seen me wearing a few of their dresses in my previous posts. I absolutely can’t get enough of them, the brand was created by influencers Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimarsdottir. It is based in Copenhagen, so if you are looking for sexy dresses then why not take a look at their collection.

SIKA DESIGNS

Now I came across this brand a few months ago and they have the most gorgeous dresses. I have fallen in love with so many of their pieces. The garments are all handmade in Ghana, West Africa. How fantastic is that they are creating jobs and opportunities within the Ghanian community.

TONGORO

Another African brand that I am absolutely head over heels in love with. They launched in Spring 2016 by Sarah Diouf and is 100% made in Africa label, designed and produced in Dakar, Senegal. They offer unique and playful dresses, their materials are sourced on the continent and they work with local tailors. Tongoro offers dramatic dresses that are appropriate for any occasion.

BOUGUESSA

For all you minimalist ladies I have you covered, Bouguessa is a contemporary ready-to-wear label. Focused on clean cuts and impeccable details. Their signature silhouette lie in high modern cuts, bold lines and geometric precision. The brand was founded in Dubai by Faiza Bouguessa in 2014.

RIXO

This brand is well known for it’s print and you can instantly recognise a Rixo dress. What’s not to love about the brand when they have everyone one covered. Whether you want to hide your arms or legs there is something for everyone. I already own a few of their dresses and was hoping they bring back their houndstooth dress as I missed out on that one and would love to have it in my collection.

SOLACE LONDON

Now you all know how much I adore this brand! Well if you didn’t you do know. I just can’t get enough of their dresses, they have the most unique and beautiful dresses in my opinion. You can be sure to stand out and make a statement in any of their dresses.

RAT & BOA

For standout dresses at an affordable price Rat & Boa is the place to go. They have the most perfect pieces for all occasion and will for sure make you feel fabulous!

Hopefully you find some inspiration from the pieces I have chosen. Why not click on the images and have a look at the rest of the brands collection. Do let me know which ones you are loving by leaving a comment below.

Thanks for the detail shots of the embroidery on the black dress – it’s really a stunner, and I adore the sparkly boots with it. I haven’t heard of most of these brands, and they truly do make gorgeous dresses. I’m a big fan of the Ghanian one, in particular.
