How To Style A Merve Bayindir Hat For Any Occasion

Good afternoon everyone, now if you have read any of my previous posts then you would already be familiar with Merve Bayindir. If you haven’t then why not take a look HERE, So this is hat number three and is named Dorothy. Like I have mentioned in my previous post the SS20ICONS” collection is dedicated to all women around the world who have not only inspired us but broken down barriers to pave the way for future generations.

DOROTHY HAT

So let’s begin with the hat, it is striking yet simple, like I said earlier it is called Dorothy. The hat embodies the very essence of modern bridal millinery. The soft silk abaca dotted with beautiful pearls creates a beautiful contrast between the two and is accented further by the elegant handmade flowers. Adore the dramatic twist on a traditional button shape, it is a must-have statement piece for a wedding, horse racing events or other formal events.

The hat has been dedicated to Dorothy Hodgkins, a British chemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize for her work on the critical discoveries of the structure of penicillin and insulin.

PLEATED DRESS

Moving on and when it came to styling Dorothy I new the perfect dress for it. This pleated dress is from Self-Portrait and is from the brands SS18 collection, but I knew straight away that these two would work extremely well together. This monochrome stripe midi dress is cut with a plunging neckline and features elegant frills throughout. The dress is designed with effortless cold shoulder sleeves and falls to a pleated tiered midi skirt.

So what’s new, another Self-Portrait dress I couldn’t resist. It was for sure one of those impulse buys, I knew the minute I saw this dress. Their dresses are truly one of a kind – from the high quality material to the intricate design. Since then you would have seen me wearing a number of dresses from this brand. I have a few more coming very soon so look out for those post. The dress and the hat work rather well together, a midi dress is ideal for occasions and one I think is a fail safe.

THONG MULES

Next and onto my shoes and here I opted for my Staud Clothing Thong Mules. I absolutely love them and this is apparent from all my previous post. You would have noticed me wearing them on repeat.

WICKER BAG

Last but not least is this Cult Gaia Millie rattan tote bag. I love how unique and distinctive it is and that it screams Spring/Summer to me. This ‘Millie’ style is woven from beige rattan in a spherical silhouette with an equally rounded top handle. It has a linen lining patterned with the vivid print created in collaboration with Brazilian artist Lane Marinho. There is something so cool about this bag and I adore carrying it around!

Oh this Dorothy Hat is great and love that is dedicated to scientist as opposed to an actor or celebrity. It looks great with tiered ruffle and dress, wicker bag and Staud shoes. Just love this!
