Good morning everyone today’s ensemble is based around this Bikini top. Now I like to utilise my swimwear into my everyday wear if I can, so that is just what I did. The bra top has taken over from the crop top. The likes of Dior and Giambattista Valli had crochet iterations coming down the runway as for Loewe they went for a more daring sheer number. Bra tops were also seen at Fendi and Givenchy too, bikini dressing comes in all textures and style. I know this trend might not be for all, but there are a number of ways to incorporate this without being too revealing. The best way to wear this trend is with anything high waisted and something that is a bit more concealing unless you are on vacation. Oversized blazers are perfect to wear on top!
BRA TOP (BIKINI TOP)
Right lets begin shall we, I have been wanting to incorporate this Burberry bikini top into my outfits for a while now. So when my latest package from Zara arrived and I was deciding how I was going to stye the pieces this top was the first thing that came to mind. I then thought why not go for another top that would work equally well here. As most of us are into keeping fit and healthy specially during these times I’m sure most of you own a work out top.
Here I switched the Burberry top for this black Nike bralette which works rather well with the white and adds some black into my attire. Then I decided to wear my Lucas Hugh bottoms which peak out at the top of my trousers to give a little edge to my outfit as well as to conceal a bit more of my midriff. The great thing about this trend is you don’t necessarily have to rush out and buy anything new. Work with what you already have, I’m sure most of you will have plenty of bikini tops, workout tops and bralettes in your draws. So why not take a good look around your draws/closets and see what you have and see what works for you.
LONG SLEEVELESS WAIST COAT
Next and onto my Ecru coloured long sleeveless waist coat from Zara, I have been on the hunt for a white long sleeveless waist coat for a while now. I own a black one and loved it so much that I also wanted one in white too, so when I saw this on the Zara website I just had to get it before it sold out. I have so many outfit ideas for styling this waist coat which I can’t wait to show you in my upcoming posts. The waist coat comes with a lapel collar and a V-neckline. It also features back and side vents, has false welt pockets on the front and a single button fastening. A crisp long sleeveless waist coat which will make any outfit look put together.
HIGH WAISTED TROUSERS
Moving on and at the same time that I was browsing on the Zara website for the waist coat I came across this pair of Ecru high waisted wide leg trousers. I knew instantly that I would wear the waist coat and the trousers as a co-ord. It’s not always easy to find separates that are in the same hue. Such a flattering pair of trousers that I absolutely love wearing and they are long enough for me to wear with my wedges.
However If trousers are not your thing then you could easily style the outfit with a midi high waisted skirt that would work equally well. I would go for a skirt that hits the same point as the waist coat, I mean you don’t have to but it’s a suggestion. Then depending on my mood I may add a wide waist belt to cinch in my waist. Perfect for going out in the evenings, when we do finally venture out!
Now when it came to choosing a bag for this outfit I couldn’t decide on one, so here I opted for my straw/wicker ones. For me straw bags are a staple for Spring/Summer hence the reason for opting for these two. First up is my Cult Gaia Millie rattan tote bag. This gem of a bag is unique and distinctive, the ‘Millie’ style is woven from beige rattan in a spherical silhouette with an equally rounded top handle. There is something super cool about this bag and I love carrying it around!
My second bag is this Bamboo Coffer number from Mango. Embracing the basket bag trend has never been easier thanks to this cross-body rattan bag. The structure of the bag combined with it’s straw material is a key ingredient for a Spring/Summer attire. Also one of the most practical too! One of my go-to bags around this time of year.
As for my shoes I love to pair wedges with my wides leg trousers and jeans and therefore chose to wear my Aspiga pair. These come in a high heel, in a light beige colour with contrast stitching. A very comfortable pair of wedges to walk in. These are a little higher in heel size then my Castaner’s but love the elevation they give me. Although having said that I would have loved the trouser legs to be an inch wider, so they fully covered my wedges. I am being picky here but that’s just my preference when it comes to trousers .
Finally for the finishing touches I grabbed my Aviator style sunglasses from Carrera. These are white rimmed and work rather well with my ecru ensemble. Finishing off and completing my look I decided to wear a pop of colour on my lips in the shade Red Velvet from Limecrime. It is another matte lipstick which you would have heard me rave on about previously. Love how intense the red is and that it does not dry out my lips!
