HOW TO STYLE THE SIXTIES WALLPAPER TREND

Good morning everyone today’s post is all about the sixties wallpaper trend. Although I am not someone who follows trend, I thought I would show you all how you could incorporate this should you choose to. What drew my eyes to this dress was the sleeves initially, of course I love the print too. So it just happens to fall into the sixties wallpaper trend. Get ready for the next fashion era, the sixties styles! This was visible across the runways as retro prints ruled from the likes of Prada and Marc Jacobs in forms of suits. Spring dresses with psychedelic wallpaper prints were opted by Christopher Kane. While Alberta Ferretti and Etro went for a more Bohemian print.

WALLPAPER PRINT DRESS

So lets begin with this beautiful dress from ROTATE Birger Christensen from Net-A-Porter. Now you may or may not already know how much I adore this brand, I already own at least four dresses from this brand. And I can assure you there will be a few more I will be adding to my collection in the near future! I am not the only one who loves these puffy dresses as they are a major hit with other influencers. I mean what’s not love just take a look at those marvellous puffed sleeves. This pink number is made from floral-jacquard and has these beautiful satin covered buttons along the sleeves. The dress is in the mini style so be ready for that if you are not someone who wears them a lot. However you could easily style the dress with a pair of jeans by tucking the dress in and wearing it as a top.

BLACK ANKLE BOOTS

Now when it came to styling this dress I opted for my black peep toe boots. These are from Karen Millen and I have had them for a number of years now. Biker boots would have been another option to give the outfit and edgier look. Maybe I shall style it that way next time. Now I could have also styled the dress with some sneakers/trainers for a more dress down approach.

BAG

When it came to choosing a bag I went for my Gucci Dionysus. I wanted my bag to be in a neutral colour hence the reason for choosing this one. The bag has been hand-finished by skilled artisans in the house’s Florence workshop from monogrammed coated-canvas and beige suede. Decorated with the signature burnished tiger head buckle, this miniature version opens to a suede-lined interior that’s ideally sized for my iPhone, wallet and lipstick. Such a handy bag that can be worn cross-body, on the shoulders or can be held in hand by doubling the polished chain.

SUNGLASSES

Moving onto my sunglasses and I grabbed my Illesteva White Cat-eye sunglasses. This just elevates the overall outfit and brings the whole look together in my opinion. I do love a pair of sunglasses especially in the Cat-Eye style.

FINISHING TOUCHES

Finally for the finishing touches I grabbed my Karen Millen belt to cinch in my waist. On my lips I wore a nude lipstick and by now you all know which one it is right?! If not it’s my go-to nude in the shade Topped With Brandy from M.A.C. So there you have it my sixties wallpaper inspired look.

So what do you make of the sixties wallpaper dress? Would you wear this bold print and how would you go about styling yours? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.
