Good morning everyone, today’s attire is an all black ensemble. The inspiration behind this look is from all of you that don’t like to wear colour and avoid it. I get it, the colour is simple, easy, timeless and always looks chic, well that can depend on what you are wearing!
The trick is to mix and match the textures of each item so that your outfit doesn’t look flat. The mixture of the different materials will create depth and keep the outfit looking interesting. I know black is a fail safe colour for some, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. An all black outfit is very easy to pull off and the shade is able to take on various personalities. From looking feminine with a tulle skirt and a black body, to badass with a pair of ripped jeans, biker boots and and oversized tee.

KNIT DRESS
So here I am wearing my mock neck puff sleeve knit dress from Garage. What initially drew me to this dress was the puff sleeves, I am a sucker for statement sleeves. Anything to give the dress a little oomph, the dress comes in a super soft ribbed fabric and is in the bodycon style. The dress is ideal for the cooler months and a great transitional piece that will see me from Winter to early Spring. Make sure to wear the right underwear with this kind of dresses as it has a tendency to reveal everything underneath. There is a multitude of ways to style this dress, depends on whether or not you want to style it up or down. Here I have decided to amp up the look a little.
SUEDE BOOTS
Moving on and I opted to go for my knee high suede boots from Carvela at Kurt Geiger and style them with my knit dress. The style of the boot is called Whirl, these have a slight slouch to them, which I don’t mind at all. They actually stay up and I don’t have to keep pulling them up like some other pairs that I have worn previously. A great pair of boots that would lift any outfit whether it be a crisp workwear or a laid back weekend attire. The material is in this gorgeous butter-soft suede with a smooth lining which adds to the comfort.
These are just so comfortable and easy to walk around in that I have been re-wearing them to an inch of their lives. I am on my second pair now and have just bought a third which I am saving for later. Who else does that? For me it is difficult enough in the first place to find the right fit of knee high boots that once I do find the right one I will always try and purchase a second pair. Of course it depends on the price too! This tall boot is detailed only with light tonal stitching, and has tapered mid heels which are very comfortable to walk in. It also has pointed toes which create a chic silhouette and works rather well with my dress.
LEATHER BAG
Next and onto my bag this gorgeous Bella bag is from Teddy Blake. I love how versatile and cute the bag is, it is very functional as it can hold all my daily essentials. The bag features an organised suede red interior with a central compartment and full length zipper side pockets. You can expand the sides for extra space should you need it. It also comes with a detachable/adjustable shoulder strap that I can wear either cross body or hand held like I have done here.
CAT-EYE ACETATE SUNGLASSES
As for my sunglasses I am wearing my trusted Le Specs in the style Rapture. This pair is my most worn pair of sunglasses to date, they really are fabulous in my opinion. Inspired by “the flea markets of Berlin, the music scene in Stockholm and the streets of New York.” I mean what’s not to love about them, they are lightweight yet durable and are perfect for everyday wear. They also work with almost all of my outfits!
FINISHING TOUCHES
Finally for the finishing touches I opted to add a pop of colour and went for a red lip. Here I am wearing the shade Feels So Grand in the Retro Matte Lip colour by M.A.C. Such an intense red which I am loving, another one of my favourites.

Ah a wonderful H to T black look, I wore all black one day to NYFW as it was raining the entire day. But I added a neon sneakers, a red bag, and gold necklaces, lace top and vinyl hat for interest.
