Good morning everyone, today’s attire is based around work wear. I wanted to style this faux leather skirt for the office. The leather trend is huge this season from shirts, dresses, trousers, coats, shorts to skirts. So take your pick from one or go for all whatever you heart desires. I for one will be adding a few more pieces of faux leather pieces to my wardrobe. So keep an eye out on here or on Instagram to see which pieces I buy next.
FAUX LEATHER SKIRT
Right let me begin with this brown faux leather skirt from H&M. The skirt comes in a calf-length in a high waist and with buttons down the centre and two fake pockets. The colour and it being high waisted is what drew me to the skirt in the first place. Such a fabulous colour for Autumn and just ideal for the office in my opinion. I know wearing leather is not necessarily worn to an office but styled in the right way I don’t see why you couldn’t. I think a faux leather skirt is one you can get away with wearing, unlike say a pair of trousers. Of course this all depends on where you work and how strict your company is on what you can and cannot wear.
Moving on to top and here I opted to style the faux leather skirt with this white blouse from H&M Studio. I was lucky enough to get my hand on this blouse as they sold out very quickly. This blouse goes wonderfully with the skirt, it comes in an airy cotton weave with concealed buttons down the front. The collar is small and is in a stand-up style with a fold-down edge and pin-tucks at the front. Love how the sleeves are extra-long and come in this puff style, which have been lined with tulle at the top to add volume and accentuate the shoulders. At the back of the blouse it has these gorgeous pleats for added width and has been finished off with a rounded hem. A white blouse or shirt is always hands down the best option for the office if you are in doubt.
Next and onto my shoes, here I am wearing my black Karen Millen peep toe booties. Now depending on the climate I would suggest that knee high boots are also a great option. Since the skirt is calf length a 3/4 length boot would also work rather well. Or if you are someone who can bear to wear tights, then go for it with some court shoes. Again depending on where you work you might not want to show off your toes but I will let you make that decision. This pair of booties are a few years old and they come in a stretchy material with a high heel.
So onto my bag and to this brown beaded Cult Gaia number. Cult Gaia’s penchant for 1970’s references is embodied by this Bohemian Cora bag. It features a beige canvas pouch framed by gradient-toned wooden beads that also form the round top handles. If you are someone who carry everything in their bag by all means go for a bigger one. I myself have a laptop bag hence the reason for carrying such a small bag. In my case the bag is big enough to fit my essentials such as my phone, credit cards, keys and lipstick.
Finally for the finishing touches I am wearing my cat-eye sunglasses which are from ASOS. As you are all aware of by now I can’t resist a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. On my lips I am wearing the shade Topped With Brandy in the Retro Matt Liquid Lipcolour lipstick from M.A.C. So there you have it my work wear edit on wearing a faux leather skirt to an office.
