Good morning everyone, today’s ensemble is around this Peter Pan collar blouse. This collar is a huge trend this season, so be prepared to see it on a number of garments. Personally I love it on shirts and blouses, hence the reason why I am wearing this linen number.
PETER PAN BLOUSE
Right lets start off with the Peter Pan Collar blouse. This one is from Zara and comes in linen with a ruffles perter pan collar, long sleeves and is oversized. Again for me as the weather is so hot linen is the ideal material. However depending on you climate there are so many other materials you can go for. One big trend this season is faux leather shirts and blouses with Peter Pan collars. There are so many ways to style this blouse, here I have styled mine with a pair of denim high waisted paperbag shorts.
I could have easily layered the Peter Pan blouse under a black midi dress with the collar of course showing and also the sleeves to give that black and white contrast. Ideal for Fall/Autumn and for those who love to layer up. I could have also paired the blouse with a pencil skirt, some knee high boots and draped a blazer over my shoulders which would equally work rather well in my opinion.
HIGH WAISTED SHORTS
So moving on and onto my high waisted Bermuda denim shorts which are also from Zara. These are in the colour Ecru and come in the paperbag waist and work rather well with the blouse. Featuring side pockets, back patch pockets, turn up hems, a belt which is in the same fabric and a zip fly and button fastening. The one I am wearing is sold out but I have linked some similar ones.
Next and I opted to wear my white Superga Sneakers/trainers. I tend to find that a pair of white trainers always makes an outfit look much more put together. Do you also find this or is it just me?! This classic light weight pair is just perfect and versatile and works with most outfits. At an affordable price you really can’t go wrong. Also if you are doing a vast amount of walking then these are going to be your best friend.
CULT GAIA BAG
Now for my bag and after much deliberation I chose to wear my Cult Gaia Millie rattan tote bag which I bought from Net-A-Porter. This is the label’s answer to the spring’s straw bag trend, it is just as distinct and cool as their previous ones. This ‘Millie’ style is woven from beige rattan in a spherical silhouette with an equally rounded top handle. It has a linen lining patterned with the vivid print created in collaboration with Brazilian artist Lane Marinho. A cute bag which has enough room for all my daily essentials.
So for the finishing touches first off and staying with white I am wearing my cat-eye sunglasses from Illesteva. On my lips I am wearing M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolur in the shade Topped With Brandy. So far I am loving this shade, M.A.C describes this shade as a “deep dirty rose”. The shade differs from person to person depending on each individuals natural lip colour. On my lips it looks slightly brown with mauve undertones which is exactly what I wanted. However I know that on some people it can look just brown. So make sure you test it out before purchasing.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read my fashion blog. What do you make of the Peter Pan Collar? Would you wear a garment with such collar? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.
