HOW TO STYLE A MONOCHROME JUMPSUIT

Good morning everyone, todays ensemble is based on this gorgeous monochrome jumpsuit. I know a lot of people find the idea of having bold colours in their wardrobe quite daunting. Instead, monochrome outfits, featuring black and white pieces, is the only thing they find acceptable. Of course this is absolutely fine and I love a monochrome outfit in black and white as much as the next person, I mean what’s not to love when it’s unfalteringly chic. So how do you make a monochrome wardrobe look interesting every day? Well here is one way to keep things interesting for an every day outfit!

HOW TO STYLE A MONOCHROME JUMPSUIT

/ JUMPSUIT / ROLL NECK JUMPER / BAG Similar / SUNGLASSES Similar/

One of the easiest ways to do a monochrome outfit is to pair a white t-shirt with either a black pair of trousers or jeans. Next add a statement coat and some sunglasses to complete the look. Monochrome is simple, clean and effortlessly chic, making it one of the easiest combinations to nail. And a full ensemble worn head-to toe can be very effective. All you have to do is look on Instagram as street stylers have been championing the look. Designers always seem to have this covered too, as they send their models out in monochrome season after season. Therefore confirming that black and white fashion is not to be ignored.

JUMPSUIT

Right lets begin on my attire and to this beautiful checked monochrome jumpsuit which is from Reiss. You all know by now how much I adore jumpsuits so when I saw this one I had no hesitation purchasing it. The added bonus here is that it’s currently on sale, and what drew me to this jumpsuit initially was the wide legs. The Natascha jumpsuit as it’s called is adorned with this hand-drawn check design in a cool monochrome palette. The shirt is cut to a slim-style fit with capped sleeves and ruffle detailing, while the chic wide-leg silhouette adds to its effortless appeal. I added this belt from one my dress to cinch me in at the waist and to give me some added shape.

ROLL NECK JUMPER

Next and onto my Karen Millen roll neck jumper in black. For me it’s a must-have item for winter and and a great way to layer under garments. This chevron detailed one is just ideal here with the monochrome jumpsuit. I recommend stocking up on a few in different colours as they are very handy and easy to wear specially during the winter months.

BOOTS

Moving onto the accessories and first up my boots. I am wearing my lace-up ankle boots from Dune London here, but I guess you could wear any type of boots. The legs of the jumpsuit are rather long and that’s how I prefer them, therefore styling them with flats is not ideal for me.

BAG

Onto my bag which is from Marks and Spencer and is a few years old now. This bag needs no introduction really as you would have seen it pop up several times in my previous posts. It’s one of those bags that can be worn with almost any styles and is timeless in my opinion and not just a trend item. You could easily team any black bag of your choice with this outfit, I personally wouldn’t try a backpack, but I am sure some of you would pull that off perfectly!

ACCESSORIES

Now last but not least onto my accessories. First off my vintage black velvet gloves which instantly makes my attire look elegant, well I think they do! Next and onto these gold drop ball earrings which are from Happiness Boutique. They just tie in beautifully with the gold chain from my bag. On my lips I am wearing two lipsticks the first is Chanel Adrienne and on top of that Teddy Bear from Lime Crime Velvetines. Finally completing the attire is my black ASOS cat-eye sunglasses.

What a fun printed jumpsuit! I’m petite so jumpsuits aren’t for me, but you wear it so well and you layer it expertly for winter weather! 🙂 It would look fab in summer without the layers too! 🙂

Hope that you are having a great week! We finally have our aircon fixed – it was so tough suffering through the heatwave without it!
