Good morning everyone, todays ensemble is an off duty look. It is also my morning drop off outfit that requires minimal time and yet looks so put together. Morning runs are hectic anyway no matter how much preparation I do the night before. There is always something that goes array. So with this in mind here is my off duty look, which for me is all about comfort and chic. This is my interpretation of the look. We can all find our own off duty look and make it chic and comfortable. Just find pieces that work for you and take it from there for an effortless outfit you love.
In Mum Life this week Wyatt had is 11 plus mock exam, the real one is in January. A little nervous as expected but as soon as he saw his friends he was fine and didn’t even say bye to me. I think we both will be pleased once the actual one is done in January. I am more relaxed this time around as I have been through it once before with Eli. And of course he reminds me at every chance he gets, how I was rather hard on him on revision than I am with Wyatt! Apart from that it’s the usual for Eli and Zeke.
Right lets back to my ensemble at hand and to this off duty look. The best way to attain the off duty look is to keep it casual, with boots, simple prints and neutral colours. If you’re more apt to dressing girly, try to tone it down with some trainers/sneakers or a bomber jacket. My staple piece here are my ripped Paige Denim jeans. Now this is my favourite pair and they are so soft and comfortable and not at all rigid. These are worn on days where I want to make a quick dash out the door.
Teamed with a plain white t-shirt or a blouse like I have done here works so well. The blouse is from Mango and I absolutely adore the cuffed sleeve with the big black buttons. Also has a high neck with a bow tie at the back.
Next and to this Reefer jacket which is absolutely stunning. Don’t have to take my word for it just look at it. It is in the colour navy and I bought it from Karen Millen. Yes I know another Karen Millen piece, but I have mentioned before how well tailored their coats and jackets are and also the fact that they fit me so well. They also last the test of time too, another reason I keep purchasing from them this brand. The Reefer jacket to me is just so elegant and can make the most casual attire look very put together. What’s not to love about this, I adore the gold piping details, the fold over pockets, the shoulder details and the buttons on the cuffs with the gold piping just finishes the jacket.
Moving onto my boots and to these knee high pair which are from Carvela at Kurt Geiger. I don’t know if you guys are the same, when I find a pair of boots that fit me well I tend to buy a second pair. The reason being it is rather difficult to find knee high boots that fit me as they always tend to be too big at the top. So when I purchased this pair I knew that I had to buy another straight away. Just couldn’t bare the thought of not finding something similar later on. They are my current go to boots and are worn most mornings as they are so comfortable to walk in.
The style of the boot is called Whirl and if you are interested they are on sale now and they have quite a few of the sizes in stock. A great pair of boots that would lift any outfit whether it be a crisp workwear or a laid back weekend attire. The material is in this gorgeous butter-soft suede with a smooth lining which adds to the comfort. This tall boot is detailed only with light tonal stitching, and has tapered mid heels which are very comfortable to walk in as I have mentioned before. It also has pointed toes which creates a chic silhouette and works so well here.
As for my bag I grabbed my Rosie shoulder bag from Modalu England. An opulent black bag that can transform any ensemble, here I have worn it without the straps. The bag is in a square silhouette and made from brushed velvet and satin fabric. Inside there is a triple compartment for all your essentials. Finishing off with a flap and Modalu branded magnetic closure. Such a sleek bag and the added bonus is that it is currently on sale!
For the finishing touches I have worn my frameless mirrored aviators in the Prince Ltd style from Le Specs. A great way to hide those tired mummy eyes in the mornings. On my lips I wore my matt nude lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy bear. Finishing off the look I have put my hair in a ponytail. You could also go for a messy top knot which works extremely well for an effortless look. So there you have it my off duty look!!!
