Good morning, today’s attire is based around these high waisted brown shorts. You may have noticed from my previous posts that I have been drawn to brown hues lately. Such a gorgeous colour and so ideal for Autumn. Brown hues are everywhere and is big news this season, having dominated the catwalks with the likes of Fendi, Chloe and Rochas to name a few. The brown shade is less harsh then black for those of you who don’t wear black that often. So taking my cue from the catwalk I decided to show you how I styled these brown shorts.
I can safely say that it’s still quiet warm and therefore I can get away with wearing shorts at the moment. It’s not long now before the temperature begins to plummet, I am actually looking forward to that as I am over the cold mornings and warm afternoons. Having to change my outfits twice a day as its rather cold in the morning. Then by the afternoon it’s so warm you have to change into something a little lighter. I know, I know big deal I have to change twice in a day! I’m just thinking of the washing that has to be done by the end of the week thats all.

In Mum Life this week, well I am feeling much better than last week and have got over my cold and sore throat. However the boys have either got it now or have just gotten over their bout. Wyatt was the first to come down with the dreaded sore throat and cold and has recovered from it. Eli, poor thing still has his cold, Hopefully he shakes it off by the end of the week. As for Zeke well he is at home with me today as he woke up with a sore throat this morning.
He is currently bored and wants me to play with him! It’s so funny when his brothers are around sometimes he gets frustrated that they are annoying him and vice versa. But now being by himself he wants them to be here so he can play with them. I have told him he could watch the T.V. for a little while, so he is watching ‘Malcolm In The Middle’. Love that show and it still remains funny after all those years.
Right lets get back to my attire and to these gorgeous brown shorts from H&M. They still have a few sizes available if you are interested and it’s on sale too! The brown shorts come in a sturdy cotton jersey material with a high paper bag waist. I am a huge fan of anything high waisted as it accentuates my waist and also elongates my legs in this instance. It features decorative pleat at the top and has a concealed hook-and-eye fastener and zip fly.
Next I styled the shorts with my Karen Millen black roll neck jumper. A fitted jumper with skinny chevron rib design with long sleeves. Feels so soft and comfortable and of course looks great on. In my opinion you really can’t go wrong with Karen Millen knitwear. You don’t have to take my word for it why not take a gander here.
Moving onto my knee high black boots which are also from Karen Millen. They are rather old, but I just love the contrast of the two materials. The boots are made from suede and leather and come in the sock style. The colour ties in with my roll neck jumper.
Onto my accessories and to my tan-hued hat. This hat is from Reiss and I just adore the colour, such a simple way to add that little something extra to give me that statement I am looking for. It’s crafted from soft felt with a wide brim and has a tonal grosgrain ribbon at the base.
As for my bag it’s another Karen Millen item, and this is also from an old season. Again you can see how well Karen Millen pieces last the test of time and how well they are crafted! This tan bag is in a rectangular shape and has enough room to fit my daily essentials and just ties in beautifully with my overall look.
I then grabbed these Gucci skinny sunglasses which I bought on my first visit to America. Another vintage pair of sunglasses that are right on trend now. These I bought at Nordstrom at half price compared to what they would have cost me in the UK. I was rather pleased with myself having saved my self some money. Although I did end up spending what I had saved on clothes!
Finishing off my look I wore my Lime Crime Velvetines lipstick in the shade Red Velvet. I am sure you probably guessed this before I even mentioned it, as I have been wearing it on repeat.
Finally before stepping out I threw on my Karen Millen camel coat. This is from last year and I just adore this classic Camel coat which in my opinion is a must-have in ones wardrobe. A piece that can be worn time after time and is very evident in my posts. On top of that it is a beautiful coat that will keep you warm and snuggly. Yet another item from Karen Millen which has been tailored to near perfection. I cannot express how well this fits. Made from premium Italian fabric, which is evident as to how soft it feels.
So all ready to go out now and finish off my errands!

I just love those high waisted/ruffled top shorts! I really love warm/brown/beige colors in the Fall as well and yes, we can get away with wearing shorts here yet, too. Although, the rest of the week we are in for some cooler weather! I really need a jacket/coat like the one you have on!
