Todays look is based on this gorgeous red knit dress. Its one of the Spring/Summer trends, and I didn’t know this until I was browsing through the pages of Vogue. The great thing about knit dresses is that you can wear them however you prefer. There are so many textures, patterns, styles and variety of colours to choose from. Here is my take for a lunch date.
In Mum Life this week, Zeke is off to The Roald Dahl Museum today and is very much excited to find out more about the BFG. Wyatt is going for his first sleep over at his friends house. He is all really excited I just hope he doesn’t wake up too early! He is an early riser and has been since he was a baby that is one reason we have put off sleep overs until now. Eli has been very much engrossed in playing with the Rubix Cube and has learnt the algorithm for solving it and can do it in just under a minute. So impressed by how focused he was in trying to solve it.
Back to this frill and studded red knit dress I am wearing which is from Karen Millen. It has these beautiful knitted frill across the front and back with full length fitted sleeve that have split details. The dress is slim fitting through the waist and falls just above the knee. This split, frills and the studs makes the dress standout in my opinion and give it that edge.
I decided to go for a black and red look and therefore decided to pair the red knit dress with this eyelet sleeveless coat from Zara. This is from their old season, but I adore how you can layer it on top of this dress. It works so well together as you can still see the sleeve details of the knit dress.
On to the boots and these are from John Lewis. In the black sock style they are just perfect for everyday wear as they come in a lower heel. This must be my forth pair that I have bought in the same style. Of course they are slightly different from last years one. I tend to go for these as they are not so wide at the top for me so they don’t tend to slide down as much. Thats one problem I have with knee high boots as I find they are so wide at the top for me.
Now for the details, I opted for my PU black Baker Boy hat from TopShop. I have been wearing this hat on repeat now and I seriously love it so much. It has become my everyday essential, I will not leave the house without it. On the rare occasion that I do, I feel like something is missing, thats how much I have become attached to it.
My black bag is another Karen Millen piece. I decided to go for this bag as it has silver details on it and this ties in with the silver eyelet on the sleeveless coat and the studs on the red knit dress. It has just enough room for all my essentials too.
Next I put on these vintage Gucci sunglasses I bought years ago from the U.S. Again the silver frame works so well with the overall look and as it is in the skinny frame it also on trend. Finishing off my look I wore my Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick in the colour Adrienne which is a pinky nude that works so well with my skin tone.
