How to wear Red for Autumn and Winter 2017

I was wondering how I was going to inject some red into my wardrobe for this Autumn and Winter season and brighten up those cold dreary days. As you know autumn is here when there is no hiding from the decline in temperatures. Also the fact that all the leaves and conkers (seeds from Horse Chestnut tress) are scattered on the roads and pavements. So I thought I would show you my take on one way to incorporate red into you wardrobe this Autumn and Winter.

Red for Autumn and Winter

As today happens to be a dull and gloomy day with thick clouds and no chance of the sun making an appearance. I thought I would add a dash of colour to my morning by writing about this red hot outfit that I wore the other day. Warning RED alert!!!!! This fiery shade was spotted all over the Autumn and Winter runways. Brands like Emporio Armani, Giambattista Valli and Givenchy to name a few. There were coats, oversized knits, tracksuits and accessories. Making sure that there was something for everyone to wear. Weather you wanted to go head to toe in red or just add a splash of red to your wardrobe.

My Nod to London Fashion week and to injecting some red into my Autumn and Winter wardrobe. I thought it would be only fitting that I wore this jumpsuit. Instantly loved that it came in a structured fabric. It’s from Asos and I just adore the knot at the front which makes it so unique and stand out from all the other jumpsuits. It has a bandeau neck with drape detailing and has wide-cut legs which are similar to a culotte style.

One minor adjustment I had to make was to take it up a little as it was slightly long. FirstIy I rolled up the bottoms of the legs into a wide hem. Then I stitched the ends to keep it from coming undone. This just gives the jumpsuit another dimension and I reckon wide roll ups are going to be a big trend this season too! The jumpsuit also has a hook and zip detail fastening at the back.

To style the jumpsuit I decided to go with a plain white shirt to keep it quiet simple as the red was enough to make the outfit stand out. This shirt is also from Asos and its your standard shirt with button fastening at the front.

I was contemplating weather I should go for red shoes or white ones. After much deliberations…oh the struggles of styling an outfit! Haha, come on you know you’ve been there too. I decided to go with the white ones on this occasion and told myself that next time I would wear the red pair. These gorgeous white pointed court shoes are from Dune London and they exude timeless glamour. They come in a classic silhouette with a transparent trim detail. Complete with a slim high heel and a Dune brand stud trim on the sole.

The statement sunglasses are from River Island. They are in a 90’s style with rounded oval frames and smoke tinted lenses. They remind me so much of the glasses that Johnny Depp wore as Willy Wonka, in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Who else loves this movie as much as me? Absolutely adore them and trying to wear them every chance I get. Knowing fully well that there won’t be that many opportunities to do so fairly soon.

To finally finish the look off I added black to the red and white ensemble to break it up a little. This cute black bag is a vintage one and I have had it for over twenty years now. It is a little mini bag which has enough room for a lipstick, compact and few other little bits and pieces. Unfortunately not big enough to fit an iphone I’m afraid. Its called a mini bag for a reason, and when I bought this bag years ago I could fit my phone in there. Who remembers the flip phones? I’m sure you could find a mini bag slightly bigger than mine to fit your phone if you wanted to.

Thank you so much Vanessa, as for photography I am still a beginner myself, my husband currently takes my pictures and I edit them, by which I mean I just lighten it a little and maybe adjust the colour and crop out things I don’t want in the picture. The camera we use is a Nikon D5100, hope that helps and thank you for stopping by to read.
