Slogan Tees are a big favourite for street style fashion and have been worn by many influencers. Take the Gucci T-Shirt for instance which has been a very popular one. You don’t have to take my word for it, all you need to do is look on Instagram to see the evidence! As usual the high street stores have capitalised on this by making them affordable and wearable. Making their mission to find the very best captions for your chest, coming up with texts that ensure that everyone knows whats on your mind without you having to say a single word.
Browse around as their are so many variety of slogan Tees out there. I personally tend to own more plain T-Shirts, to be honest I don’t own that many T-shirts to begin with. I tend to buy shirts instead and the only time I find myself buying T-Shirts are when we are going away on holiday. I guess I am not one to let my Tees do the talking for me….saying that, I decided to jump on the band wagon and have bought a few for my wardrobe. I didn’t buy them because of the texts to begin with, I bought them mainly because I liked the style and the colouring of the texts. Then came the choosing of the texts, I guess the process is different for all of us in trying to choose the text we like and prefer. All of the T-Shirts that I bought are in white with a black text apart from one which has a red text on it.
This one I am wearing is from Topshop, I got this as the slogan reminded me of Beyonce’s song DeJa Vu. Also because there have been many a time that something has happened and I have thought to myself oh this feels like DeJa Vu. There were plenty of other slogans I could have gone for but this one just caught my eye. Its your everyday Tee in an off white colour, which you can either style up or down depending on how your feeling or where your going. We were off to lunch and I wanted to wear something that was smart and casual at the same time. I teamed it up with my Zara High waisted white paper shorts, these give the outfit the smart look I am looking for. I love these and have been found myself to be wearing them a lot, which is absolutely fabulous.
As for the accessories I went for brown tones starting with my Soludos lace-up espadrilles in the colour tan. I can’t tell you how much I adore these, they are very comfortable as they are a mid heel wedge and the off- white lace ups are just what I wanted. To tie in with the shoes I styled them with my vintage Stuart Weitzman bag for Russell and Bromley. I bought this bag back in 2001, yes thats how old it is! It is a nod to the Dior saddle bag and I think its an awesome bag. The bag has a cork effect all over it with some gold detailing which ties in beautifully with my gold Gucci watch, this was unintentional. I only noticed it when I was editing the pictures and was a very pleasant surprise. It did make me laugh though as I thought to myself how something as insignificant as that could make me feel happy, hey each to their own I say! The bag fastens with a metallic closure and is big enough to fit all your essentials like your Iphone, lipstick, lipliner etc.
Here are few more of my favourite Slogan T-Shirts from high street and high end stores:
Topshop ‘C’est Moi’ T-Shirt: This has red velvet letterings on it and is another Slogan T-Shirt that I own. I bought this as I loved the red lettering and knew that I could style with another red piece as an accent colour. It is a cotton T-Shirt which can be styled with some boyfriend jeans, a navy blazer and some red shoes to tie in with the red text! You can find it here (@Topshop)
Markus Lupfer – Kate Embellished Cotton-jersey White T-shirt: This ‘Kate’ style is made from soft cotton-jersey printed with ‘Heart Breaker’ letting and embellished with sequins and studs. Wear it under denim and leather jackets. You can find it here (@Net-A-Porter)
Love – Goals Slogan T-Shirt: This white ‘goals’ t-shirt by Love speaks for itself. You can find it here (@Topshop)
Moschino -‘Couture Is An Attitude’ printed loose fit T-shirt: Jeremy Scott is known for his high velocity colourful designs. He has taken the playful heritage of Moschino and elevated it for a modern day audience. This white cotton printed loose fit T-shirt features a crew neck, short sleeves, a straight hem and a contrasting black slogan print to the front and back. This item is from the Moschino AW17 capsule collection and can be found here (@Farfetch)
Boohoo – Sassy Slogan T-Shirt: This very affordable piece comes in the colour black and is in a soft touch cotton jersey. You can find it here (@Asos)
Gucci – Blind for Love tiger print T-shirt: This one is on the pricier side but if you love Gucci then I am sure you will love and appreciate this T-Shirt. The roaring tiger’s head motif has come to be an instantly recognisable symbol for Gucci, representing strength, bravery and extraordinary abilities. Crafted from premium black cotton, the animal is seen here surrounded by signature pink florals. The piece also boasts a round neckline, short sleeves, a straight hem and a white UFO print across the back. You can find it here (@Farfetch)
To finish off the look I went for my Carrera sunglasses to keep in with the white theme! These give you a bold statement look and I love the red detailing that it has on it to break it up a little from being all white. As for my lips I went for a pink shade courtesy of MAC lipliner in Nightingale.
