I have a swimsuit collection and each year during the summer months I add a few more to it. So July this year we headed to the beautiful island of Crete with the boys, with our villa nestled in the beautiful countryside I had to take the opportunity of the surroundings to get as much content done as I could. Living in the UK they rarely get a chance to be worn so when we go on holiday I make sure I pack as many swimsuits and bikinis as I can for the number of days we are staying. That way I feel that they are all getting worn and I don’t feel so guilty on buying them and hardly ever wearing them.
Day one swimsuit number one, this beautiful Zimmerman one piece in metallic rose and leopard print which has a boned mesh bodice and moulded underwired cups for structure and support. For someone like me I need a little help in that area. It is blended with a touch of Italian lycra to create a smooth and flexible fit. It has a detachable strap which can be added for a more secure fit when swimming. There is a clasp fastening at the back too. I purchased this from Net-A-Porter a few years ago.
I went for this gorgeous Speedo swimsuit in black and red today, it features a high neck which fastens at the back with a zip for increased coverage. A high leg for a great freedom of movement during your swim and ideal for training and fitness too. The fabric is very smooth, comfortable, durable and designed for regular swimming. Love this swimsuit as its stylish and practical at the same time, a perfect combination in my opinion!
Next came the Orlebar Brown Almada swimsuit in the colour blue. This is a perfect one piece, no clasps at the back so just throw it on and you are ready to go. The fit is just perfect and it sits snuggly in all the right places and I cannot fault it in any way. It’s a shame that Orlebar Brown have stopped doing women’s swimwear, as I would love to be able to purchase a few more from them.
Today I thought I would go for the two piece, so out came my Jets By Jessika Allen bikini. This is an Australian brand and I came across it on Net-A-Porter a few years ago. I initially wanted the monokini in the same colours but they had sold out in my size. I loved the colours and the top in particular that I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to buy the bikini. The dark blue and orange works very well together, the collar on the top gives it that edge and sharpness. Such a unique gorgeous piece, I always get comments on it so its a firm favourite of mine.
Time for the white monokini to do its thing today! This beautiful monokini was purchased from Asos. It has a halter cross body with a neck tie, has a great fit and the fabric is smooth too. A stunning one piece that looks great on and I love wearing a white swimwear, it stands out so much against my tanned body.
Swimsuit number four came courtesy of We Are Handsome, this is in green multicoloured carnival print. It comes in stretch-polyester fabric and is fully lined. Love the exposed zip fastening at the front. Definitely an eye catching one piece that will surely make you stand out from the crowd on the beach! I love how vibrant it is and just looks so funky and edgy.
Another swimsuit today, this time it was my Miu Miu blush pink plunge swimsuit with the tie across the open back. It is fully lined and is made from stretch-polyamide. A gorgeous one piece, I made a slight adjustment by adding a hook fastening at the front as the plunge was too deep for me and when I sat forward you could see everything. Other than that a beautiful swimsuit in my opinion.
Finally I wore my black monokini from All Saints, it has a back tie and a neck tie too. The fabric is great, it has the side cut out and it looks stunning on. A bit fiddly to put on so you may need someone to help you with the back ties, but I guess that goes with most back ties. I love how this looks on and love pairing it with denim shorts too.
I wore my Cat-Eye Rapture and the Prince Limited Edition Le Specs sunglasses.
