I live very close to Wimbledon and with the Tennis season upon us its not hard to miss all the official Wimbledon cars driving past our road. I love watching tennis and my favourite players in the past have been Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi. The current players I enjoy watching are Serena Williams from the women and from the men Raphael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. I really can not decide between them. When you hear Wimbledon apart from the tennis you associate it with strawberries and cream and of course who’s going to take home the trophy.
Its not just about the sport, its also a perfect opportunity to wear all white. Its become one of the colour trends off court for the summer season, if you can call white a colour . So with this in mind I thought It would be the perfect excuse to style an all white ensemble. I find when wearing an all white ensemble it instantly makes you look elegant, of course it depend on what you are wearing. However, there is the dreaded thought of making sure that you don’t get any spills and stains on your outfit!
I have brought out this gorgeous white All Saints dress. Such a beautiful dress with side ties and volume at the bottom, the neck area has a gathering of fabric which can be pulled out to give a higher neck to the dress. I love this dress and have worn it again and again in the summer months for brunch, lunch and for dinner. I decided not to go head to toe in white and therefore have paired the dress with my new Soludos espadrilles. These are in the colour tan with white lace-ups and are so comfortable and easy to walk around in. Absolutely stunning in my opinion and one of my summer must haves. Whether your staying in the UK or going away, I would recommend these to be one of your summer vacation staple pieces.
Here are few of my suggestion to wearing an all white ensemble:
A white dress: Go for a well fitted dresses preferably a knee length one in my opinion. Now you could go head to toe in white and if so then style your white dress with a pair of white wedge espadrilles and a white clutch bag to finish the look. If you don’t want an all white look, then you can style your dress like I have and go for a tan coloured espadrille or wedges and finish the ensemble off with a tan bag. Black and nudes as always work well too! You can find some white dresses (here), (here), (here) and (here), for some espadrilles look (here), (here), (here) and (here).
White trousers and top: A well tailored wide leg trousers or pants works really well, styled with a crisp white top, whether its a shirt, Bardot top or a T-shirt. Make sure that your top and bottom are the same shade of white to give that extra sharp look. Throw on a white blazer and a black bag and finally for the shoes you can go for some white pumps to tie in the whole look. Find trousers (here), (here) and (here).
White oversized shirt dress: With a variety of shirt dresses out there, why not experiment with the classic white shirt by wearing it oversized and off one shoulder. Maybe add a belt to cinch you in at the waist and show off your figure. If you decide to team it with a pair of white espadrilles why no break up the all white ensemble with a pop of colour, by styling your bag in the colour red! Find Shirt dresses (here) and (here)
White high waisted tailored shorts: A high waisted pair of shorts will look very elegant, but do make sure they are tailored. Wear it with a white statement sleeve shirt and then throw on a white long vest coat over it. Style the ensemble with a pair of white heeled boots and a black cross body bag to finish the outfit. Find high waisted shorts (here), (here) and (here).
White flared jeans and shirt: Pair of flared jeans can work really well and look very sophisticated depending on how you style it. I would go for a pair that is long in length, just skimming the ground when you wear it with your heels. You can team it with a cashmere jumper tucked in at the front and a nude bag and some nude pumps to finish the look. Find flared jeans (here) and (here).
White Jumpsuit: Very easy to style plus an added bonus there is no need to worry about whether your top and bottom are the same shade of colour. You can either go for wide leg bottoms or narrow ones which ever you prefer. Go for a white bag and finish the look of with some nude pumps. You can find white jumpsuits (here), (here), (here) and (here).
I have teamed the espadrilles with my Modalu England Pippa bag in tan, and to tie the whole look together I have gone for my Carrera sunglasses in white.
