TONAL DRESSING

Good morning everyone, today’s post is on tonal dressing. Now if you don’t already know, tonal dressing is wearing the multiple shades of the same colour or same hue from head-to-toe. It sure is a great way to look polished and put together not only that there is also something rather cool about wearing various pieces of the same shade. An easy way to elevate any look and make it look luxurious, elegant and effortlessly chic when done right. Here is one way I have styled my tonal look for you all. Whether you do it with neutral or bold colours you really can elevate any outfit. Take a scroll down and let me know what you think!

SAME HUES

Right here I have gone for the same hues which is a great way to make sure that your outfit doesn’t look too one dimensional. Why not try various tints, tones and shades of the same colour, so when it came to styling my outfit here I opted for a pair of beige trousers. These wide leg high waisted pair are perfect and go really well with the camel/beige tone blazer. They are not part of a set but work really well together, I then added a leopard print top which has beige on it to give it oomph and make the outfit pop. Taking the cue from the leopard print top I chose to team my leopard print boots with the outfit. Then finishing off the look with a tan coloured clutch and a tortoiseshell frame sunglasses which tie in beautifully.

DIFFERENT TEXTURES

Another way to style a tonal outfit would be to mix different textures, patterns and fabrics together. This will add give the outfit some contrast and make it standout. For example take a tan leather skirt and team it up with a camel coloured cashmere jumper and a pair of croc effect caramel pair of boots and throw on a camel teddy coat to finish of the look!

This is stunning! I love these types of looks, but it’s rare for me to do it! I think it’s because I have so many colors in tops and not enough bottoms to match. But, I need to do it more often!

I really like looks with the same color or similar colors, it’s all kind of monochromatic, isn’t it?

Colour, pattern, texture, shine – the four magic keys to dressing. I love the monochrome/tonal look – it is great for really making an outfit look cohesive. I really thought these were a suit – great work on putting them together (love the interesting cuffs on the jacket). You do neutrals so well, Lovely!
