Good afternoon everyone, hope you are all doing well. Today’s post is on styling a pleated skirt for summer. I am very much partial to a pleated skirt, I’m sure most of you know that by now as you would have seen a few in my previous posts. This is my latest addition and here is one way I went about styling it. Also I have included some pleated skirts for you all so do let me know what you think of them.

So let’s get started on the outfit shall we, the pleated skirt is from Chicwish. What drew me to it in the first place was of course the pleats but also the fact that it came in this beautiful blue and white stripes. The skirt comes in an A-line shape and boasts a stretchy thick black and white waistband. Next and onto the top, I wanted to keep the outfit rather neutral and therefore chose a white top to pair with it. This gorgeous (yes I know another pleated item) pleated ruffle buttoned deep v-neck crop top works beautifully with the skirt. The cold shoulder silhouette gives the top its chic feel along with the pleats and makes it standout.
Moving on to my accessories and first up I opted for my white strappy sandals. These are now a few years old but I just adore how simple and easy they are, with a kitten heel they are ideal for walking around in. Mind you in this extreme heat there is no walking around outside just indoors for me. As for my bag I went for my Loewe basket bag, a summer must-have in my opinion. It is a perfect sized bag which isn’t too big or too small and I can fit all of my daily essentials and more! Finally to complete my outfit I grabbed my white square framed Dior sunglasses.
An alternative would be to style the skirt down a little by replacing the ruffle top with a plain white tee my preference would be a shoulder padded one. Next switch the strappy sandals for a pair of white sneaker/trainer, Ideal for running errands. I would leave the bag and sunglasses as is and voila there you have it another way to style a pleated skirt for summer.
PLEATED SKIRTS
Right so I have curated a few midi length pleated skirts here. If you like the mini pleated skirts by all means go for them! These few that I am loving, range from your low end to your high end with a mix of plain and printed skirts.

The plated skirt are a very excentric and elegant piece of clothing. Wearing it, one can be certain to be noticed.
Ooh, this is such a pretty colour – I didn’t notice the striping in the first picture, but it does add good visual interest. I have a couple of pleated skirts (orange with white dots, and bronze) for summer and a couple more for winter, but I have to restrain myself or I’d have a closet full!

Seriously gorgeous!!! Pleats and I have a bit of a complicated relationship. I adore them, but find most styles of pleats look comically unflatering on me. That said, sometimes the finer pleats or those that start lower down on a garment (such as kick pleats) aren’t too unkind to my figure.
