Four Ways To Wear Your Pyjamas Out

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday and we spent the weekend away in a beautiful desert resort here in Dubai. I will do a blog post on it soon, today’s post is on four ways to wear your pyjamas out. Of course most can’t go out at the moment but when you can maybe this will be of some help.

For me in recent years I have started to wear PJ’s as outerwear. I think I much prefer that then wearing them to bed. Anyone else feel the same or is it just me?

So these days as most of us are spending a lot more time at home it takes a whole lot of energy for us to peel off our Pyjamas and put on some clothes. We have become so accustomed to wearing comfy clothes all day everyday. I thought I would share some ideas about styling our pj’s that we have so invested in over the previous months so that we can wear them out!

The pyjama dressing trend has been loved by fashionista’s for years. So with that in mind here are a few inspirations to incorporate the loungewear into our everyday looks.

MIX AND MATCH YOUR PYJAMA BOTTOMS

There are so many prints and patterns why not try and mix and match. If patterns are not your thing go for a solid colour. My personal favourite would be to style a wide leg black pyjama bottoms with an oversized shirt in the same colour or in white. To elevate the look why not pair it with some heels to give it a dressier vibe.

STYLE THE PYJAMA TOP AS A BUTTON-DOWN

Styling your pyjama top as a button-down depends on the print and colour. If you are on holiday then a print top works really well with a pair of Bermuda shorts. Again if prints are not your thing like I mentioned earlier go for a solid colour and that will work equally with some leather trousers too.

STICK TO ONE COLOUR OR PATTERN

One of my personal favourite ways to wear my pyjamas is as a set. I know wearing matching pyjamas outside the house was considered a faux pas in the past. Now a days with so many co-ord’s or twin sets I really don’t see a difference. If you can wear the latter out I don’t see why you can’t wear a pyjama set out!

Here I am wearing this beautiful satin set from Jessica Russell Flint in the Lucy & The Swallows print. Just the perfect set for me that I can wear for a night out. I opted to style it with some black and gold wedges, my black mini bag from Jacquemus and my white cat-eye sunglasses from Illesteva.

A ROBE AS A JACKET

Why not turn your robe into a jacket, great way of utilising it and getting the most out of it. The robe can easily double up as a light jacket.

Would you wear your pyjamas out? If so how would you style them? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.

    Hi,
First of all happy birthday, I hope you had a great day.
And I love pajamas. Here in Brazil there are some styles of clothes that look like pajamas, so I think it would be possible to go out with some of these here.
I loved the one you’re using in the photos.

With the sunglasses and heels those pjs look so chic! I’m not sure if I’d wear my (decidedly less chic) pjs out, but I do love comfy clothes…

Happy Anniversary, Lovely! My husband and I celebrated our 25th last February 🙂 You look amazing in those PJ’s. I’ve never worn my pyjamas out, but I do have a wonderful vintage cotton dressing gown I could easily use as a dress! xxx

These pajamas are almost too nice to wear for sleeping! I love the bright colour and the birds in the print.

I remember wearing one of my grandfather’s pajama tops around 1984-5 to school – the looks I got!! Ha ha! And now, 35 years later, they are in style. I also wore vintage brocade dressing gowns (like a housecoat only fancier) over my black dresses in the later 80s, and still have one that I bought vintage in 1986.

For me, now? Not really – I think both pieces together are a bit much (I’d rather wear a suit at that point), but I would break up the pieces and wear them separately. You look amazing in this!
