Good morning everyone, today’s post is on my go-to autumn/winter essential pieces. I know living in Dubai currently may not really call for some of the pieces I may mention. However we will be heading back to the UK for Christmas and I know for sure that I will be needing these items.
So with this in mind I have been putting together a list of garments that I plan to take with me such as my favourite knitwear, boots and coats. Now what are the items of garments you need in your closet to see you through the months of autumn/winter now and for years to come. Well here are five of my essentials, hope that they may help you or inspire you a little. You may already have them in your closets!
/ COAT / DRESS / BOOTS Similar / BAG Similar / SUNGLASSES /
THE NAVY COAT
Right let’s begin with the coat shall we, now when the colder weather appears you will for sure see a whole lot of knitwear come out from my closet as well those new pieces that I have bought. But I also find joy in rediscovering the coats in my closet too! There is something wonderful about those cold chilly mornings when the sun is shining but it’s not warm enough to step out the house without a coat, when you have the chicest navy coat to wear. A navy coat is a classic and one you can wear year after year. This one that I am wearing is from Phase Eight and I absolutely love it. I was kindly gifted to me and it could not have come at the most perfect time, as I am definitely going to be wearing it when I am back in the UK.
CREAM KNITS
Moving on and onto knits, cream knits in particular for me. Yes I know the dreading question of how to keep it clean well there is no answer you just have to go with it and hope for the best. Well that’s my moto anyway, I love to wear cream and white so I will not avoid it. I have already spotted a few cardigans and a cream knit dress too from Mr Self-Portrait which I am trying to resist very hard!
BLACK BOOTS
Now you would have seen me wearing my knee high suede black boots on repeat. I adore wearing them and pair them with nearly all of my outfits come autumn/winter. That’s exactly what you want from a pair of boots, invest in something that will work with everything if not most of your outfits. My boots work with jeans, skirts, dresses, Bermuda shorts, shorts and trousers too! If knee high boots are not your thing then find that perfect length for you.
BLUE JEANS
This is nothing new and I am sure most of you own a pair of blue jeans or two. Jeans are a key piece in my closet and will always be just like some of you. Yes for me it does take a while to find that right style and fit when it comes to a pair jeans. I have previously mentioned that my most worn style is the flare and the skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are worn most during the autumn/winter months as I love to pair them with my knee high boots.
BLAZER
My last of the five essentials is a blazer, yes I know it’s an obvious one but hey if it ain’t broke don’t fix it as the saying goes! I have a few blazers I love to wear during the autumn winter months but I have to say my favourite is my maroon corduroy blazer. Love to wear it with an all black ensemble so that it gives the outfit a pop of colour. Not only does it keep me warm for those not so cold to the bone days but it also looks super chic too.

Oh I’m so jealous of you. I also wanted to go back to Europe to spend Christmas with my family but since France is in lockdown it’s complicated.
I’m so sad I won’t be able to wear winter clothes in Bahrain.
But all your picks are amazing.
I love a good blazer and knits to stay comfy.
Your outfit is so chic. I love the detail of the collar.

Gorgeous layering! I agree with a blazer being a must. You can make anything look chic, even the simplest tee, with a show stopping blazer.
I love your outfit and style. I only get to wear coats and jackets when I am on vacation to some cooler country. This year I guess it will not be possible. Great picks my dear. π
