Good morning everyone, today’s post is on lace, now I know most will associate lace fabrics with wedding and girly dresses. However if styled correctly this fabric can be worn day to night without feeling overdressed, unless you are going to a special occasion. I personally do love a lace top, but here I have taken it one step further and am wearing a lace set!
Lace is romantic, ultra feminine and classic no wonder so many of us love it! There are so many ways to go with lace from pairing it with leather, to trainers to dresses and sets. Take a scroll down and have a look at a few of the pieces I am loving.
TOUGHEN UP THE LACE
Right let’s begin with one of my favourite ways to style an outfit and take it from looking ultra feminine to a tougher look. To roughen up a pretty lace dress I would throw on a pair of biker boots. For a little extra edginess style you lace dress with a biker jacket and some trainers/sneakers.
ALL BLACK LACE
Moving on and onto styling an all black ensemble. This is the quickest way to make something Lacey look edgy. Again you could pair it with some boots or trainers/sneakers for a dressed down look. For a more polished look why not pair the all black outfit with some knee high boots and throw on a coat over your shoulders.
If you decide to rock a lace top, wear the appropriate undergarments. Make sure to keep the outfit tasteful by making sure the skirt is on the fuller side.
ALL WHITE LACE
So take my white two piece that I am wearing here from Syra J Fashion, I am wearing a flesh coloured slip underneath. This two piece is a jacket and skirt set, just so beautiful, the detailing so intricate and looks amazing. I decided to added my black Karen Millen belt to cinch in my waist. My black mules are from Staud via Net-A-Porter. My bag is from Mango and my hat is from Asos. I love the contrast between the lace and the straw hat and bag!
OCCASION WEAR LACE
Last but not least Occasion wear in lace, whether you opt for a midi or a maxi they are ideal for special occasions. They are elegant, pretty and feminine, I adore a good lace dress as it makes me feel magical. Why not go for some flats instead of heels to add a bit of effortless chic. Keep your jewellery to a minimum when wearing lace, and if you want a bit of drama maybe go for a black number.
