Good afternoon everyone, today’s post is on five ways to look chic but stay cool at the same time. Now this may be a bit of a challenge, as all I want to do is wear shorts and a tee at the moment. But I am always up for a challenge and have put together five pieces that can keep me and you looking stylish and elegant but at the same time keeping us cool in the summer heat.
A MIDI DRESS
Let’s get into it and first up is the midi dress, there are so many variety of shapes and colours to get you hands on and catering to all our individual styles. The leopard print midi that I am wearing is from Ganni and I love how you can style this dress up or wear it with some sneakers/trainers for a casual look. The dress is cool enough for the heatwave but it still covers me up. By adding a few accessories this makes the outfit look chic and put together. I am wearing my white Staud mules, and have carried the white to my vintage retro sunglasses. As for my bag loving the fringing and went for this black Vanina bag.
THE SHORTS SUIT
Moving on and onto the short suit which really is having a moment. I absolutely love this as there are so many options available to us. Either go for a tailored short suit which will stay crisp and sharp in the heat or why not go for a linen one which will work equally well as long as you don’t mind a little crease. Why not pair the suit with some sandals either in the kitten heel style or maybe some flats instead. A tailored short suit can easily be transitioned into the Autumn/Winter months just layer a roll neck jumper and a pair of knee high boots and you are all set.
A LIGHTWEIGHT JUMPSUITS
Next and onto jumpsuits, you all know how much I love my jumpsuits. I know I have mentioned this in the past that the only draw back with them are the loo issues. Other than that they are just wonderful, look for one with voluminous sleeves to add some oomph to the outfit. A linen jumpsuit with wide leg trousers is one of my favourite and the likes of Faithful The Brand have some gorgeous ones. Again this can easily be transitioned for the cooler months by tucking the trousers into a pair of boots.
THE PRAIRIE BLOUSE
Now I do love a statement sleeve specially when it is on a blouse. So why not go for a voluminous sleeve and some ruffle detailing. Whether you go for a floral number or go for a neutral one that is completely up to you. I personally love a white blouse which is oversized and comes with a statement sleeve. When it comes to styling my prairie blouse there are a number of ways I could go. Firstly I would go for a wide leg flared trousers with some barely there sandals for a more polished look. Secondly pair it with some flared denim jeans for a dressed down approach.
Finally onto sandals and at the moment barely-there sandals are everywhere. The Ultra fine straps look super chic and will work with Bermuda shorts, mini dresses, tailored trousers to maxi dresses. They will for sure complete an outfit, my pair is from Staud and I love how they give me that slight elevation and how they elongate my legs.
