Good afternoon everyone, today’s post is based on this pink plissé dress. Now what better way to make a statement than by adding this expensive looking trend to the list. Pleated clothing or specifically plissé is when the material has micro pleats which give it a crinkled or puckered effect.
Now you may ask why is plissé expensive looking, well let me tell you, firstly the crinkled effect takes away from any wrinkles, so your dress doesn’t look tired and you look put together and polished for longer. Secondly, the plissé makes the clothing appear more interesting because of the pleated texture. There are so many items of clothing that you can get your hands on from dresses, tops, skirts to trousers.
Issey Miyake made plissé so covetable in the first place, but you can get you hands on affordable items from the likes of H&M and Topshop. Luxury designers have all so been jumping on the band wagon, such as Khaite and Solace London. So no matter your price point you can also get the luxe look. Take a scroll down to see some of my picks!
Right let’s begin with this gorgeous dress that I am wearing from Solace London. From the colour-popping magenta hue to the flattering accordion-style plissé and detailing that runs from top to bottom, this ‘Tanzy’ mini is certainly one way to make an entrance. It has been cut from plissé-crepe in a voluminous silhouette that’s cinched at the waist with a decorative faille belt. A simple dress that has been taken to the next level with this gorgeous belt!
Now when it came to styling my dress first I wanted to continue with the white from the belt and opted for my Dune London court shoes in white. As for my bag I went for my black mini 16arlington number, great for a night out. Yes I know it doesn’t hold much other than my cards and a lipstick. Completing my look I am wearing a pop of red courtesy of Chanel Coco Rouge.
Next an onto plissé tops, if you don’t want to wear a dress then this is an option. Pair your top with some jeans for a more casual look or you could dress it up with some wide leg trousers for a more polished look.
Moving onto skirts and again, pair the skirt with a white shirt or tee and some sneakers/trainers for a dressed down look. For a night out why not pair the skirt with a plain body and some heels.
