Good afternoon everyone, today’s post is on adding some drama to an outfit. Now for me that entails voluminous sleeves! What more could one ask for, the more puffed up the sleeves the better they are for me. So when we first started to see the puff sleeves back in 2018 it seemed liked it was just another trend. However, since then there have been so many iteration of the sleeves and it has continued to return season after season.
You don’t have to take my word for it just take a look at the Autumn/Winter 2020 collections. The likes of Fendi had balloon sleeves on sweaters, at McQueen there were billowing sleeves on pleated shirt dresses. At Rodarte there were perfectly puffed gowns and at JW Anderson there were double-breasted winter coats. Take a scroll down to see a few of my favourite puff sleeved dresses!
PUFF SLEEVE DRESS
Right let’s begin with this gorgeous puff sleeve dress that I am wearing from Rotate Birger Christensen via Net-A-Porter. Now if you want that little bit of drama from a dress or top go for the puff sleeves. My gorgeous dress comes in this ‘Dusk’ style which has been cut from lustrous satin. The dress fits me perfectly and comes in a thigh grazing hem and it also has an open back to give me that extra sass. Now if this is too short for you there is a midi version of this dress.
Moving on and when it came to styling the dress I opted for my nude sandals from Steve Madden. I wanted the focal point to be on the dress and went for a neutral shoe. They also elongate my legs and make them appear to be longer than they actually are.
Next and onto my bag of choice this mini black bag from 16arlington via Net-A-Porter. The ‘Ralphie’ bag has been crafted from lustrous satin, and comes in this compact silhouette. So what can I fit in my bag you may ask! Well I can hold my most used cards and my favourite lipstick. Here I am carrying it by the chunky gold top handle. However, the bag can also be worn cross body with the shoulder strap. This is ideal for a night out to leave me with my hands free for a drink or two!
Are you a huge fan of the puff sleeves? What are some of the other sleeves you like? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.
