Good morning everyone, today’s post is on wide leg jumpsuits. Now I absolutely adore jumpsuits apart from the obvious loo situation I really can’t fault them. For me personally jumpsuits depending on the style are a statement piece of garment. This all-in-one piece will for sure amp up my style game and take me beyond a simple trouser and top combo. It may not be to everyone else’s taste, as a lot of women still steer away from it. I do wonder why that is?! I know it can be a little tricky to figure out what kind of shoes go well with jumpsuits depending on their style.
The jumpsuit comes in many different styles, whether you go for a wide leg like I have here, or for a cropped culotte style, a narrow leg style or a straight leg I have a few suggestions on how to style them with the right shoes. The best thing to do is to try them out and see which one best suits your style and go from there.
WIDE LEG: Right lets begin with the wide leg jumpsuit, this one I am wearing is from SOLACE LONDON. I like my jumpsuit to have a wide leg or a straight leg that’s just my preference as I find them to me the most flattering. Now with a wide leg jumpsuit I would suggest wearing a pair of WEDGES. As I like my jumpsuit to be touching the ground, a heel pair of shoes is not ideal as you will end up getting them stuck at the bottom of the hem or worse tripping over.
CROPPED LEG CULOTTE: Next for a cropped leg culotte style jumpsuit, there are few option you could go for. First up a lace up pair of ESPADRILLES would work really well. You could even pair them with some SNEAKERS/TRAINERS for a dressed down look. A pair of STRAPPY HEELED SANDALS would equally go rather well with this style of jumpsuit.
NARROW LEG: For a Narrow leg jumpsuit, STRAPPY HEELED SANDALS would also work with this style, make sure to tie the straps over the jumpsuit to give you that street style vibe. Again SNEAKERS/TRAINERS would also work really well, I would say just roll up the hem a little just to give you a little more of a casual look. They can also be worn with BOOTS, tucked in either in the CALF length or the KNEE high length.
STARIGHT LEG: Last but not least the Straight leg style jumpsuit. Here I would style mine with some WEDGES again just like the wide leg I find them to be very complimentary. You could also go for some ANKLE BOOTS that are heeled which would also work exceptionally well.
So when it came to styling my wide leg jumpsuit I opted for my black wedges which are from KURT GEIGER. Now as the length of the jumpsuit is long you can’t see them. I know some people like their shoes to be visible, but for me that is not the case. Hence the reason I left the jumpsuit at this length instead of taking it up, which I could have done if I wanted to. For me when I am wearing a wide leg or a straight leg jumpsuit they have to be grazing the floor or else it just doesn’t work for me. Anyone else feel this way?
Moving on and I decided to wear my black fedora hat from WHISTLES, this just amps up my outfit a little more. Not that this jumpsuit needs any more amping up as it makes a statement all on its own! Finally I finished my outfit with a red lip courtesy of M.A.C in the shade LADY DANGER.
