Good morning everyone, today’s attire is based around this beautiful black pleated skirt. Now I don’t know about you all but I have fallen in love with pleated skirts, you would have seen me wearing another in my previous post HERE. There is no shortage of them and they don’t seem to be going away any time soon.
You can style them with everything from flannel shirts and ankle boots, turtle necks and heels as well as tee’s and sneakers/trainers. There is also a variation of styles from the likes of asymmetrical hems, peplum waists to the ones that come with belts! This has to be one of my favourite as I like to cinch in my waist and giving it a modern take.
BLACK PLEATED SKIRT
Right lets begin with my black pleated skirt which is from Zara. This skirt has some weight to it and looks more expensive then it is, well I personally think so. So if you are on the hunt for that perfect pleated skirt look for ones that have some weight to it. Also great for those days when it is rather windy, you don’t want to have a Marilyn Monroe moment! This midi pleated skirt comes with its own belt which I was extremely happy about. On it’s own it would have been big on me. I couldn’t size down as it is the smallest size, so it was one less thing to worry about not having to make alternations. Below are my top picks of pleated skirts from the high street to high end.
Moving on and here I opted to style my pleated skirt with my Moss Mono Houndstooth RIXO blouse. I went for a monochromatic look and kept everything black and white. This comes in a v neck, with a pussy bow fastening, the wide sleeves are long, with elasticated cuff and a straight hem. There is something about this print that always draws me in. A gorgeous blouse that can be worn with, skirts, shorts and trousers. RIXO are always inclusive, they create a fusion of original hand-painted prints and timeless silhouettes to flatter every woman. irrespective of age, season, size, nationality or time of day.
Next and as you all very well know I love to wear my espadrilles during the Spring/Summer months. These are from Castaner at Net-A-Porter in the style Chiara. For a more casual look I could have paired the skirt with a plain white tee and some white sneakers/trainers. Another option would have been to team the skirt with a sweatshirt and some chunky boots. Both would work equally well, stick to what works for you!
Finally when it came to choosing the accessories first up I chose my black and white Shrimps bag which goes rather well with my houndstooth blouse. Next I opted for my black Whistles Fedora hat, I then grabbed my Le Specs sunglasses is the style Scandal. Finishing off and completing my attire I wore my matte nude lipstick in the shade Topped With Brandy from M.A.C with a little bit of Adrienne in the centre from Chanel.
