Good morning everyone today’s ensemble is all about the Polka Dot trend. Now I must admit I don’t own that many polka dot pieces, this jumpsuits must be my fourth item of clothing with the print. Although Polka Dots have always been around and considered a staple print, in the last few seasons leopard and animal prints have dominated. However, the resurgence of the Polka Dot print was very much evident during couture week in Paris and at the same time the infamous Zara Polka Dotted dress was going viral. You can view the dress HERE if you don’t know which dress I am talking about!
There are so many Polka Dot pieces of garments to get your hands on from dresses, tops, skirts, trousers and jumpsuits of course. Also the size of the Polka Dot is important too, depends on your own preference whether you like them to be big, medium or small. I personally haven’t tried the large Polka Dot, maybe that might be my next purchase. All depends on the actual garment and whether or not it’s to my taste, as I wont buy unless it is. I am sure most of you can relate to that.
POLKA DOT JUMPSUIT
So lets get straight onto my ensemble and lets being with my off the shoulder jumpsuit from Self Portrait. As you may already know I absolutely adore this brand so it’s no surprise that I purchased this jumpsuit straight away. The jumpsuit comes in this gorgeous navy plumetis material. The style is designed with a fitted bodice that gives me all the support I might need, I absolutely love a structured bodice. This jumpsuit also comes with a tonal belt, but I could have easily switched it for one of my own. Here I opted not to, and of course adore the wide leg pleated trousers. As you can see the hems skimmed the floor, which I don’t mind as I like it like that. I am between 5″5 and 5″6 so if you are shorter than me you may have to have them taken up. As for my shoes I am wearing my heeled nude sandals from Steve Madden.
Next and onto my bag, and here I decided to style my Gucci Dionysus bag with the jumpsuit. The right size bag for all my essentials and goes rather well with my overall look here. Just elevates the ensemble and makes it look so much more put together.
Next and onto my sunglasses, to give the ensemble some more edginess I wore my vintage oval white framed sunglasses. These are so bold and in your face I just adore them. They are very Willy Wonka-esque I’m talking about Johnny Depp’s take on Willy Wonka. The retro oval white sunglasses are just the right pair to give this ensemble that statement worthy look I am going for and add to the overall look and make the outfit standout!
Finally to complete my look I opted for a bold red lip and decided to wear the shade Feels So Grand from M.A.C. It is a matte liquid lipstick that does not dry out my lips and the perfect shade of red for my skin tone!
Are you into Polka Dot pieces? Do you own any garments in this print? Or are you someone who stays well clear of it? Do let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.
