Good morning everyone, today’s outfit is based around this faux leather dress. Now leather is normally reserved for Autumn/Winter, however it is for sure having a moment lately during Spring too. This was evident on the catwalks for 2020 from the likes of Bottega Veneta, Marni and Alexander McQueen to name a few. Its not just about the black and cream leather, there are so many colourful pieces to get our hands on. From an array of garments such as skirts, tops, Bermuda shorts, maxi dresses, coats and jackets. You can go all out for a matching suit or just one piece like I have done here.
So lets begin with the faux leather dress which is from Zara. This is my first and only leather dress, I was drawn to this sleeveless dress, I kept going back onto the Zara website and was looking at it time and time again. I thought to myself let me just go for it and so I did. Not the least bit disappointed with the dress, although might be a little tricky in warmer climates. Once I received the dress I knew straight away how I was going to style it. My inspiration here for styling this leather dress is taken from Dior. The dress has a high neck featuring a smoked design on the bodice and a pleated skirt. Now you all know how much I adore pleats!
Now when it came to styling the dress I opted to layer it and wore this oversized white shirt under it. This is also from Zara and I just love the details of the sleeves. The oversized collard shirt features long sleeves with puff shoulders and an asymmetric hem. When styling an oversized shirt the most common way to do it is to go for a casual look. Take a look HERE to see how I styled the shirt in a casual way.
Next I opted to add a wide belt and cinch in the waist, this belt happens to be from Zara too. Now this is where the outfit starts giving off that Dior vibe, well I think so. I had to add two extra holes to the belt myself as it was a little big around my waist even though this was the smallest size.
Moving onto my feet and I went for my Kurt Geiger Biker boots, which is also another nod to Dior. A beautiful pair of boots that can easily make an outfit look dress down without making it look too casual. This is the Sting style which comes in a rugged black lace-up that stretches to my mid calf. These biker boots are finished with gold-tone buckles, studs and an outsole style that is durable. They are extremely comfortable to walk around in and look super cool in my opinion. Adding the biker boots just gives my outfit some instant cool girl vibes.
As for my bag I thought it would be only fitting to go for my Baguette Bag from Agnes Nordenholz. This bag needs no introduction as I have been wearing it on repeat. Such a cool bag in my opinion and one that is sure to elevate any outfit.
Finally for the finishing touches I am wearing my white Cat-Eye sunglasses from Illesteva. Just wanted to add another touch of white to the outfit. As for my makeup it’s my usual daily make-up, I am wearing my nude lipstick in the shade Topped With Brandy in the Retro Matte lipstick from M.A.C to complete my look.
