Good morning everyone, today’s attire is based around this oversized shirt with the statement sleeves. As you may all know by now I am a huge sucker for statement sleeves and can’t resist them. An oversized shirt might not be for all of us but there is no harm trying it on to see how it looks. After that if you are still unsure then by all means stay clear of it. Make sure to go for oversized as opposed to sizing up as that can make the garment look scruffy. Also can make you look like you have shrunk down a few sizes.
One of my favourite things to wear is a white shirt and blue denim combo. A pair of light wash jeans and a crisp white shirt is just what I adore. Such an easy outfit to put together for the school run if you happen to be one of those mums that doesn’t go to the gym first thing in the morning like me.
Lets begin with this crisp oversized shirt which is from Zara. I find that Zara do white shirts so well, and at an affordable price I always end up buying at least two at a time. They tend to sell out quite fast hence the reason for buying multiples. This oversized collard shirt features long sleeves with puff shoulders and an asymmetric hem. When styling an oversize shirt the most common way to do it is to go for a casual look. So here that is exactly what I have gone for when it came to putting together my look.
So I opted for my boyfriend distressed blue turn up jeans from Guess. Absolutely adore the turn ups and how they just add to the overall look. It took me a while to find these as most boyfriend jeans don’t look all that flattering on me. So when I came across this pair a few years ago I was pleasantly surprised. Now I am on the hunt for a few more, yet to find any so if any of you have any suggestions please do let me know! Jeans in this wash work best with a white oversized shirt in my opinion. There are few other ways to style the oversized shirt, I have another look with the same shirt which I will be posting very soon so keep an eye out for that.
Moving on and I wanted to add a straw hat into the mix and decided to wear this Mango one. Now ever since I saw the oversized Jacquemus hats I wanted to get my hands on one! I wasn’t about to splurge out on a Jacquemus just yet. Personally I adore wearing hats anyway, so when this arrived and I tried it on, I knew instantly that it was a keeper and that I was for sure going to be wearing it as much as possible. I wasn’t wrong there as soon as spring comes around the hat comes out! This straw hat comes with a contrast black ribbon which can be worn undone like I have done here or tied if you like.
Next and onto my shoes, I opted for a cream pair and went for these thong style ones from Staud at Net-A-Porter. Love these ’90’s revival ‘Keith’ mules, they are made from croc-effect leather and have a knotted thong toe post. As for the heels they come in a fluted kitten style and are ideal for Spring/Summer.
Finally moving onto the final touches I grabbed my Gucci Dionysus bag and my white oval shape sunglasses. These sunglasses always amp up an outfit and bring the whole look together. To complete my look I am wearing M.A.C Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in the shade Topped With Brandy.
