Good morning everyone, today’s attire is wearing knits in warmer climate. So I guess I am missing not being in the UK to take advantage of all the Autumnal garments. Not to be disheartened I have put together this ensemble as it works rather well here in Dubai. The temperature has dropped, so it is much cooler for the locals, as for me it is still hot but I am not complaining. Knits are huge for Autumn/ Winter whether it be in the form of a skirt like I am wearing here or dresses and sweaters of course. Knits were big on the catwalks with the likes of Bottega Veneta, J W Anderson and Stella McCartney to name a few.
First off and onto my knit skirt, this calf-length one is from H&M. The skirt comes in a chunky jacquard-knit cotton blend with covered elasticated waist and a slit at the back. There are a number of ways I could have styled this knit skirt, however I went for a more polished look for a lunch date. I could have easily dressed it down with some white trainers/sneaker for an everyday wear. It can also be worn to the office too with some knee high boots! For those of you in cooler climate you have the option to layer this up with a chunky knit sweater and a coat and some knee high or calf length boots.
Next I decided that because I loved the pattern on my knit skirt so much that I would team it up with the same patterned blouse. The blouse comes in an airy viscose weave with a round neckline. There is a small opening with a concealed button at the back of the neck. I adore the three quarter length balloon sleeves which have wide cuffs to finish. Both pieces together can easily be mistaken for a dress, as I have been told many a times.
Moving on and I styled my knit skirt with my black peep-toe ankle boots from Karen Millen. A great pair of boots that are very comfortable to wear, hence the reason they are always my first option. They come in a stretch material making it very easy to put on. These have been in my wardrobe for a number of years now as you may already known as I have worn them several times before.
So onto my bag and here I opted for my Gucci Dionysus. The right size bag for all my essentials and goes rather well with my overall look here. Just elevates the ensemble and makes it look so much more put together.
Before heading out I grabbed my Carrera Aviator sunglasses. These have a white frame with a red stripe running across the top. Which ties in wonderfully with my knit skirt and blouse.
Finally for the finishing touches I wore my black waist belt from Karen Millen to cinch me in at the waist. On my lips I am wearing the shaded Topped With Brandy from M.A.C, a wonderful nude that I am loving! Finishing off my look with my hair parted in the middle and pulled back in a low pony tail.
