Good morning everyone, today’s attire is on wearing a dress as a kimono. I don’t know about you guys but I am all for switching it up and re-wearing my clothings as many different ways as possible. So here is one way to wear this gorgeous wrap dress. I have decided to dress it down here for a day look.
ROTATE WRAP DRESS
So lets begin with this gorgeous satin maxi dress from Rotate Birger Christensen. This is my second wrap dress from the brand as I previously bought the same dress in black. If you missed that post, why not take a look HERE. The dress falls to a graceful maxi length with a clean silhouette which features a plunging neckline and comes with a wrap tie. The shoulders of the dress are gently gathered to give some volume. Whether you decide to style it up or down you really can’t be missed in this statement worthy carnation pink dress. I can safely say I am a huge fan of this brand, as you would have seen from all the pieces I have acquired so far.
H&M CUTOMISED JEANS
Moving on and like I mentioned earlier I have gone for a day time look here and therefore opted to wear the wrap maxi dress with my H&M denim skinny jeans. It comes in a skinny high waisted style and I have customised this pair myself. So easy to do, all I did was cut a few inches from the bottom and made a slit in the knee area with a pair of scissors. I then threw them into the washing machine to give them that frayed distressed look and voila there you have it my very own ripped pair of jeans.
Next I opted to wear my white Norma Kamali Butterfly Mio ruched swimsuit from Net-A-Porter as a bodysuit. This looks great under the maxi wrap dress, the dress covers the back up nicely, therefore I am not revealing too much skin. The v-neck style swimsuit is so flattering with its all-over ruching which highlights my curves without being skintight. Another way to put your swimsuit to good use, it’s not only for the beach or the pool.
CULT GAIA CORA BAG
As for my bag and after much contemplation about whether or not to go with a white bag I went for this brown coloured beaded one from Cult Gaia instead. This gorgeous wooden Cora bag embodies Cult Gaia’s penchant for 1970’s reference. The bag features a beige canvas pouch which has been framed by gradient-toned wooden beads that also form the round top handles.
Now when it came to my shoes I wanted to keep the white going and chose to wear these white transparent detailed, pointed toe court shoes from Dune London. They exude a timeless glamour and showcase a classic silhouette with the transparent trim detail. The heels come in a slim style and are quite high, that is fine by me as I’m a heel kinda gal. However, if you choose to style your wrap maxi dress down wear shoes you feel comfortable in. You could easily go for some white trainers/sneakers which would work equally as well.
Right for the finishing touches first off I gabbed my latest pair of sunglasses which I purchased from the Net-A-Porter sale. These are from Illesteva and come in a cat-eye style, now you all know how much I adore a pair of cat-eye sunglasses! Finally completing my look I am wearing the shade Teddy bear from Lime Crime Velvetines on my lips.
