Good morning everyone today’s post is all about ways to inject colour into your wardrobe. I know we are somewhat divided when it comes to colour, those who love it and those who feel most comfortable in muted tones and soft beiges. Personally I like to mix it up a little and add in a bit of colour to my wardrobe now and again. After a while beige for me can become a little tiresome and repetitive. You don’t have to go full out colour, I have a few suggestions on how to inject colour into our wardrobes in a minimalistic way.
First off why not style a pair of tailored trousers in camel with an oversized trench. Next add a red/orange jumper crossbody with the arms knotted at the front, instantly your ensemble is statement worthy yet still remaining in your comfort zone.
MUTED COLOUR PIECES
A muted colour in yellow or blue works rather well too. So for those of you who shy away from colour these two hues are relatively approachable and can be easily added into a neutral wardrobe. Both colours work rather well with denim.
COLOURFUL BASE LAYER
Another way to inject colour is to try a bold base layer. By layering up your ensemble the colourful base will just peep out and give your attire some oomph! Best way to do this is to wear the base under a neutral boiler suit or a plain white shirt, therefore drawing the eyes to the colourful base.
ACCESSORIES TO INJECT COLOUR
One of the easiest ways to inject colour into your wardrobe is through your accessories. Whether its a colourful bag, a pair of shoes, some statement earrings or maybe a hair slide, a colourful accessory is the perfect way to add a touch of colour without compromising your style. This will elevate the neutral staple pieces and give the overall look a touch of drama.
So here is my take on how I inject colour in to an outfit. My look today is a casual one, here I am wearing a lounge wear set from Femme Luxe in the colour rust. Great for those morning drop offs and any other errands I need to do. I opted to pair the lounge wear with my black Adidas Gazelle sneakers.
I then threw on my House Of CB long knit slouchy cardigan, which feels great on by the way and keeps me snuggly and warm. To add some statement to the ensemble I am wearing my Zara envelope waist bag and my Blank Sunglasses in the style Stormfighter. Finishing off the look I am wearing my nude matt lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy Bear.
