Good morning everyone, today’s ensemble is based around this Edgy girl dress. Once in a while I find myself gravitating towards a piece of item that has that fashion forward ability and be statement worthy at the same time. So when April and Alex got in contact with me to do a collaboration with them I jumped at the chance. After browsing through their website I decided I wanted the Edgy Girl Dress.
So before I get started here is a little back story to April & Alex. Based in the UK, they curate bold and edgy, fashion-forward pieces which is sourced all over the world and sell to a global fashion-forward clientele. The company was launched in 2012 as a fashion and style blog. Their love for all things fashion led to the creation of an online boutique. The products are handpicked by their in-house fashion buyer. Offering a curated selection of fashion pieces, and limited edition collaborations. Only selling the pieces that they want to wear. If they cannot wear it, they will not sell it. Their motto is “We do not sell clothes, we sell Style”.
Right lets begin with my Edgy Girl dress, which is a two-piece open back dress with detachable sleeves. The sleeves are what makes the dress stand out and make a statement. I love the puffed long sleeves which is what initially drew me to this dress. The simple dress is elevated by the detachable sleeves. Although my dress is sold out April & Alex have a similar top in this style, take a look HERE.
Moving onto my shoes, I opted to stay with the black and style my Edgy Girl Dress with my black Castaner Chiara Espadrilles from Net-A-PORTER. In my opinion I think they work rather well together and gives off a ballerina vibe. Of course by now you all know how much I adore a pair of espadrilles during the Spring/Summer months. Castaner’s are one of my favourite brands and the first place I turn to for my espadrilles.
Next and onto my sunglasses, this pair is from the Adam Selman X Le Specs collection in the style Scandal. Adore a pair of cat-eye sunglasses, this Scandal pair adds to the edginess of the overall look and compliments the attire.
Finally for the finishing touches I am wearing the shade Red Velvet from Lime Crime Velvetines on my lips. This just gives a pop of colour to the all black ensemble. So to complete my look I decided to wear my hair in a side parting which is pulled back into a low pony tail. So there you have it, one way to style the Edgy Girl Dress!
