Good morning everyone, today’s attire is based around these gorgeous Transformer trousers with braces. I don’t know about you all but I find buying trousers for myself very difficult. They are either too big at the waist or are just not the right fit for me. So it’s no surprise that when I came across this pair of trousers I was a little hesitant at first and wasn’t sure whether they would be the right fit for me.
I was very much pleasantly surprised once I tried them on, for once I didn’t have to have them altered as the fit and style was just right. When I was younger I loved trousers that had braces and always wanted to own a pair. I think it’s from my love of all the gangster movies I watched! But I also love seeing women embrace this look and make it, dare I say it, sexy and powerful.
On Mum Life this week, Wyatt is away on his school residential trip. He has been super excited about it, so I hope he is having a blast with his friends. They are in Devon for five days and it does feel rather strange at home without him. He is my little helper who wakes up early and makes breakfast for his siblings. Just because he wants to and not because I have asked him too! He enjoys cooking so he looks forward to making egg white scrambled eggs.
As for Eli it’s that time of year again and he is suffering from Hay Fever. Even with taking medication, poor thing has had a constant runny nose for a while now. Zeke on the other hand is a little unwell and has a cold which of course he has passed onto me now!
TROUSERS WITH BRACES
So lets get back to the attire at hand and to these black Transformer trousers from ME+EM. First off they have these double sided braces which gives the trousers it’s uniqueness. One of the things that drew me to them in the first place. On one side it has a high-shine satin for elevated lux, and on the other a textured fabric so the braces don’t slip off. The waistband also comes in a high-shine too. The trousers can be worn cropped by folding up the hem and buttoning it. Or if you prefer you can leave them undone like I have here.
A perfect pair of trousers which is very versatile when it comes to styling. You can wear them dressed down for an everyday wear, style them up for going out or power dress it up for work. Like I mentioned earlier they are one of my favourite pair of trousers. In my opinion ME+EM have hit the nail on the head when it comes to trousers. You don’t have to just take my word for it, why not take a look for yourself HERE.
Next I opted to style the trousers with braces with a bodysuit. This ivory one is from Karen Millen and most of you might stay away from bodysuits because either you find them uncomfortable or clingy. However, I find that there is something so effortlessly chic and understated about a bodysuit. Take the runway for instance Isabel Marant showed how useful a bodysuit can be when it comes to layering. The modern way to wear it is to team it with an oversized denim jacket, or layer it with a high waisted wide-leg trouser like I have here.
Moving onto my shoes and here I have decided to style the trousers with my Adidas Gazelle trainers/sneakers. The perfect way to do comfy, yet be stylish at the same time. The adidas Gazelle trainers started it’s legacy as indoor style suede shoes for the German sportswear brand. Since then it has become a timeless and classic 3 stripes style over the last 50 years. Originally the trainers were released in 1968. The Gazelle was first worn by the West German football team as an all purpose training shoe. It was held in high regard for its lightweight on foot qualities. Over the last fifty years hundreds of new adidas styles have been released. However, only a few can really claim the cult status and subculture connection like the Gazelle holds.
As for my bag I had no hesitation when it came to choosing which one I was going to go for. By now you would have seen me wearing this Agnes Nordenholz baguette bag on repeat. The strap is detachable and comes in two interchangeable style, one shoulder strap in vegetable leather and the other is this baguette rope style. Also comes with a turn lock closure and gold plated brass hardware. Agnes Nordenholz is a slow luxury label founded in 2015 in Berlin. The creative mind behind this brand is Agnes Schorer and the intention behind the brand is to produce soulful products, that will last for a long time. They combine high craftsmanship with intriguing designs. A forward thinking brand that has unique handbags, which I am absolutely loving. Take a look HERE at the collection.
Finally onto my accessories and first of I am wearing my black Topshop baker boy hat. It is in the PU material and like sunglasses I adore wearing hats. This just adds to the overall look, also great for those CBA days when your hair isn’t behaving itself. Then onto my sunglasses, these are my vintage Gucci pair with the small frames. Finishing off the look I am wearing my Lime Crime matt lipstick in the shade Teddy Bear. So there you have it one way to style a pair of trousers with braces!
