Good morning everyone, today’s attire is on styling a bustier with a suit. Most of us would tend to wear a bustier for a night out. So I thought I would style it for a day time look and make it more wearable during the day. I have previously worn this bustier in one of my posts, if you missed it then why not take a look HERE!
So lets begin with my ensemble and to these grey ankle-length cigarette check trousers from H&M. They come in a stretch weave with a regular waist, the legs are tapered and have slits at the hem. I find them to be very versatile and easy to wear, whether you dress them up for a night out or dress them down for a daytime look they look fabulous on. They are perfect for everyday wear, just throw on a white tee tucked in at the front and some white trainers and your ready to go!
Moving on to my shirt and to this exaggerated white shirt from Pretty Little Thing. Yes the first thing that drew me to this shirt was the sleeves. Adore a statement sleeve to begin with so when I saw this it was an easy decision to make. The shirt comes in a fitted style at the waist and with the cuffs being a little longer they peep out and amp up my overall look.
Next I opted to layer the bustier on top of the shirt. This black faux leather one is from Femme Luxe Refinery and works beautifully against the white. Its comes in a cropped style and is ideal for a day to night look. Of course go for any style of bustier you prefer and try the layering like I have done here.
Then I draped my H&M double breasted Check blazer over my shoulders. This just makes the outfit look more put together and makes the bustier stand out. The blazer and trousers are very similar but are not part of a suit. I mean you can barely tell by looking at the pictures, and had I not mentioned it, you wouldn’t have known. Together they just make the ensemble look so elegant in my opinion.
For me whenever I am trying out a new print or style that I am unsure of I tend to head to either H&M or Zara. I like to try and test these items out first before splurging out. Since buying this blazer I have worn it several times on it’s own without pairing it with the trousers. So having tested this blazer out I decided to take a look on Net-A-Porter and have come across a few check grey blazer that would love to get my hands on. Take a look HERE.
Now when it came to what to wear on my feet, I opted for these laser cut open toe shoes from Karen Millen. They are a few years old but I love them as they have these beautiful laser cut details on them. They come in a high heel which is perfect for me as they give me that little elevation I want. Now I could have easily worn a pair of white trainers/sneakers to dress it down.
As for the accessories first to my current favourite bag from Agnes Nordenholz. Of course by now you have seen me carrying this bag on repeat. Such a cute and unique little bag I can’t get enough off, can you blame me! Next and onto my Le Specs sunglasses in the style Prince Ltd. These are in the mirrored aviator style with silver handles. Finally to finish off my look on my lips I am wearing the shade Teddy Bear from Lime Crime Velvetines.
