Good morning everyone, today’s ensemble is based around this H&M dress and how to achieve a festival vibe outfit. I know Coachella is already come and gone, but there are so many upcoming music festivals. So with that in mind I thought I would style this dress to show you how easy it is to achieve that festival vibe, regardless of whether or not you attend any festivals. If you are interested in the upcoming top best summer festivals then why not take a look HERE for more information.
Before I get started, in Mum Life this week, the boys are back in school. The are extremely excited about the Avengers Endgame movie as they are huge fans of Marvel and have watched all the movies to date! I must admit I am also excited too and can’t wait, Who else is with me on this? I was planning on going to the cinema to watch it by myself whilst the boys were at school. However they were not very impressed by that so I shall have to wait and go with them as planned!
So lets begin on my ensemble and first of this pretty long sleeve dress from H&M. Again sorry this one is also sold out, but there are quite a few similar dresses available. Any flounce style dress will work for a Bohemian look. If you are planning on going for a Boho look, maybe go for a garment with fringing as this is a staple for boho chic. However, if you aren’t that keen on fringing then by all means add an accessory with fringes to look edgy and cool. This could be in the form of a bag or a pair of booties and this will instantly boost your style. On the other hand you can take your cues from how I have styled my attire here.
Moving onto my boots and when it came to styling my dress to achieve a festival vibe, I knew that a pair of calf length boots was a must. This pair is from Carvela at Kurt Geiger and comes in the scrunched style. They have a slightly slouched fit with ruched detailing to give an elegant statement. The boots have a heel which comes in at 90mm ideal for all the walking you will be doing, and is finished with a pointed toe. You could always opt for some cowboy boots, Ganni do some gorgeous ones, take a look HERE.
Next I decided to wear a belt to cinch me in at the waist. The wide waist belt is from Karen Millen and I have had it for a number of years now. It instantaneously amps up an outfit and makes it statement worthy in my opinion. This season there are a number of wide belts that are on trend for you to get your hands on. Of course you don’t have to wear a belt should you choose not too, as the dress will still look fab on it’s own.
Right straw bags are a staple for Spring/Summer, hence the reason for opting for this Bamboo Coffer bag from Mango. Embracing the basket bag trend has never been easier thanks to the cross-body rattan bag. The structure of the bag combined with it’s straw material is a key ingredient for a festival worthy attire. Also one of the most practical too! One of my go-to bags around this time of year, check out my previous posts HERE.
Hats are another essential when it comes to festivals, specially for those that take place in warmer climates. Firstly they keep the sun at bay and secondly they complete a look, well for me they do. This fedora hat is from Whistles and is a couple of years old. I decided to go for this one rather than my straw hat as it ties in beautifully with the rest of my accessories.
When it came to choosing a pair of sunglasses to style this festival vibe look, I just could not resist this Prince LTD Le Specs pair. The Prince Frameless Mirrored Aviator Sunglasses in silver is a futuristic update on the classic aviator. It features completely flat lenses, and spring hinges for maximum comfort. These sporty Aviators blur the boundaries between classic and contemporary. Teardrop lenses and the double-bridge give it a retro touch. But the visible screws and the minimalist frame front make it very modern. These are very light and perfect for a boho chic look ready for the festive season.
For the finishing touches, I have gone for minimal make-up but you can wear what ever you like. There is no rules here, whether you want to glitter it up or muted down it’s totally up to you. I have gone for the latter, on my lips I am wearing my nude go-to lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy Bear. Finally on my finger I am wearing my gold cylinder ring from AUrate New York to complete my look. So there you have it my take on how to achieve a festival vibe outfit!
