Good morning everyone, todays attire is on this gorgeous Self-Portrait dress. Now you would have seen me wearing some of Self-Portrait dresses in my previous posts. HERE is one of my posts if you haven’t already seen it. I adore this brand and find my self always going back to them time and time again. The style and fit of the garments are second to none and at an affordable price range you really can’t go wrong. I mean it is on the higher end of the high street prices, so word of advice try shopping around the sale period as you are sure to get some bargains!
Lets begin with my check panel midi dress from Self-Portrait. The dress has been cut from black fluid check and it is fitted through the bodice. Comes with these voluminous sleeves which have a slit at the back which I am loving. The dress falls to a flared midi pleated skirt, yay for pleats! Who else loves pleats as much as me? One other great thing about this dress is that it feature a black gathered hip panel. So ideal as it cinches me in at the waist without the need of an added belt. As for the finishing details the dress has contrasting ivory panels along the hem and fastens at the back.
The movement, style and fit of the dress is perfect for spring in my opinion. The dress gives you enough coverage for those cooler days and is light enough for those sunny spring days. You can clearly see designer Han Chong’s passion for modern accents and playful experimentations in this collection.
When it came to styling this dress I wanted it to stay simple. Therefore when deciding on what I was going to wear on my feet I opted for my black pointed Public Desire sock boots. These boots work seamlessly with the dress. This in turn takes nothing away from the dress and lets it stand out. These are my current favourite boots to wear for going out as you are all aware of by now. I could have easily styled the dress with some ankle boots or even some espadrilles. I say even because the whether here is till not that great and more often than not it has been raining which is not ideal for espadrilles.
Now onto my bag and to my precious Cult Gaia Dome bag, this bag just screams Spring/Summer to me. Although I have been carrying during the Autumn/Winter months too, but not as much as I shall be in the coming few months. I find that Cult Gaia do some unique and wonderful bags at a price that won’t break your bank. This seasons collection is no exception as they have some amazing cute little bags that I would like to get my hands on. What I love about my Dome bag is that it is roomy enough for all my essentials and added bonus there is no chance of anything falling out either.
Moving onto my Sunglasses and to these white pair from Carrera. My reason for choosing them was to add some white which tied in beautifully with the ivory hem. It may be a little bit matchy matchy for some but this is how I like to wear it. The sunglasses are in your aviator style with the iconic logo on the nose bridge and straight arms with angled tips. I have had this pair for a number of years now and still love how current it still is.
As for the finishing touches lets begin with my go to nude lipstick Teddy Bear by Lime Crime Velvetines. Next I wore my gold cylinder ring from AUrate New York. Moving onto my vintage Gucci watch which also happens to be in gold. There you have it spring ready in a Self-Portrait dress, now I just need Spring to be here already!
