Good morning everyone, todays attire is based on the gorgeous ME+EM check man pants. Now if your looking for trousers that fit well and are well tailored without costing you an arm and a leg well look no further than ME+EM. And no this is not a sponsored post, I happened to stumble upon their instagram account and was hooked straight away. This is my second pair of trousers from ME+EM, my first pair is the their Transformer trousers. If you have not seen my previous post on the Transformer trousers then take a look HERE.
Before I get started on my ensemble let me give you a brief background to ME+EM. Founder Clare Hornby was frustrated by how hard it was to find well-made, on trend clothes that didn’t cost a fortune and hence founded ME+EM in 2009. They believe that women should not have to choose between quality and cost, between contemporary trends and clothes that can function and look great in. Their collections are all founded on three simple principles:
Flattering; they spend approximately 15x longer than the high street developing our shapes, fitting each piece on three models of different body types to achieve the most flattering fit.
Functional; to create pieces with purpose they are dedicated to versatility and the highest-quality fabrics: crease-free, non-stretch, comfortable and durable.
Fashionable; they edit the trends down to the ones that are the most flattering and have longevity, then they make them wearable for our everyday.
Right lets begin on my ensemble and with these burnt orange check man pants which are absolutely gorgeous. The colour leans towards more of a red then a true orange. They are tailored and crease free, with a heavyweight double-faced fabric. Such a versatile pair of pants that can be worn either styled up or down. I have opted to style mine up for a lunch date here and have gone for a monochrome look.
Next I picked the white from the side seams of the check man pants and opted to wear my ecru coloured blouse from Ted Baker. This is from a previous season, but I just love the front bib detailing on the shirt. And of course not forgetting the button cuff sleeves. This just adds to the vintage feel of the blouse.
Moving onto my cardigan which is from Karen Millen. I have had this cardigan for a number of years now and the colour is in a very similar hue to the trousers. Hence the reason for pairing it with the check man pants. The sleeves are a three quarter length and silver buttons to finish off.
After much deliberation I chose to go with my red trench from Karen Millen. I think I made the right choice here as I am very pleased with the overall look. This trench is very similar to the classic Burberry ones and works rather well here. It comes with a collard neck and long sleeves with tabs at the cuffs. There is a vent at the centre back, a belt at the waist with metal ends and button fastening at the front.
As for my shoes I wanted to add some more white to the attire and these were perfect in doing so. These white transparent detailed, pointed toe court shoes are from Dune London. They exude a timeless glamour and showcase a classic silhouette with the transparent trim detail. The heels come in a slim style and are quite high, that is fine be me as I’m a heel kinda gal. However, if you choose to style your pants down wear shoes you feel comfortable in. You could easily wear some white trainers/sneakers which would work equally here.
For the finishing touches, first off I chose my white square bag from Missguided. Next I wore my white oval sunglasses from River Island and you would have seen me wearing these in several of my previous posts. On my nails I am wearing NARS white nail polish in the shade Ecume. As for my lips I a wearing the shade Teddy Bear from Lime Crime Velvetines. Finally completing my look I am wearing my cylinder ring from Aurate New York.
