Good morning everyone, todays ensemble is on another maxi dress. If you didn’t read my previous post on ‘How To Style A Maxi For Autumn’ well then take a look HERE. So I thought I would show you a different way to style a maxi. Firstly I really wanted to wear this dress again and who can blame me for wanting to do just that! I mean the colour and the print are just so eye catching and the dress is just beautiful.
Secondly red is the perfect pick-me-up colour to combat the winter blues. Also I always like to style my pieces as many different ways as possible. Now since taking these pictures the temperature has dipped considerably and I would definitely need a coat of some sort to throw over this dress.
In Mum Life this week, I have been organising the Christmas presents list so that I can get the order placed and out the way before the end of November. I have already bought the advent calendar for the boys and it’s a reusable one made out of wood. They were so excited and overjoyed, now I have to find some small sweets and toys that will fit into the boxes. So that’s next on my to do list once the presents have been ordered.
Lets get back to the ensemble at hand and I shall begin with the maxi dress. This beautiful dress is from H&M Studio and part of their Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The print is just so gorgeous and H&M drew their inspiration from Japan’s minimalistic design. They had so many beautiful pieces that celebrated both femininity and masculinity. Its the perfect dress to wear all year round, during the summer months it serves as a cover up. During the colder months layer it up and your good to go, versatile and stunning at the same time.
Moving onto the layering I opted to wear my black Sass and Bide leggings under my maxi dress. Of course I could have worn a pair of skinny leather trousers too specially now that it’s rather chillier. I bought these leggings from Net-A-Porter several years ago. If my memory serves me correctly I am sure I bought them during the Black Friday sales.
Next I paired the legging with my Karen Millen ribbed skinny chevron roll neck jumper. Which is also in black and peeks out ever so slightly. A soft and beautiful jumper which feels great on the skin and doesn’t disappoint on the looks front either. A perfect pairing with any maxi dress in my opinion.
As for my accessories after pondering for a while I decided to go with my black Zara belt bag. Although here I have worn it across body because it’s rather big on me when I wear it around my waist. Anyway I much prefer it across body in this instance. Such a cute little bag and in the envelope shape design which is just about big enough to fit my iPhone.
My red boots are from Carvela at Kurt Geiger and are from last year. I decided to stay with the red and incorporated these gorgeous pair of red boots in the style Sparky. What’s not to love! Such a statement pair of boots with buckle detailing and pearls which makes them stand out and take notice. Now for the added bonus, the ankle boots come in a kitten heel. So you know you can be in them for hours without worrying about your feet hurting.
As for my sunglasses I grabbed this pair which are from Hashtag Sunglasses. The sunglasses are beautifully studded in the aviator style ‘Absolutely‘ and come in six different other colours. Finally I wore my favourite nude lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy Bear to complete my look.
