Good morning everyone, hope you are all well, todays ensemble is based around this Morris & Co x H&M Collaboration. This collaboration first came to my attention when my cousin mentioned it to me. I know a little about William Morris and am familiar with his wallpaper prints. But that’s as far as my knowledge of him and his work goes. So I decided to do a little research and find out a little more about the man behind the designs of these gorgeous prints.
H&M is renowned for its popular collaboration with fashion brands from Erdem to Stella McCartney. Most recently they have been collaborating with Moschino, and you can get your hands on this collection in November. However, prior to this the high street brand has been sourcing it’s inspiration from British heritage brands. Their summer collaboration with the wallpaper brand GB & J Baker featured the design house’s colourful wallpaper patterns on dresses, trousers and blouses. If you missed my post on that collaboration take a look HERE.
So it’s no surprise then that for their Autumn/Winter 18 collection H&M has turned to quintessentially British interiors brand, Morris & Co. I am generally not a prints person but I can safely say that there is something for everyone in this collection. H&M have done their upmost in my opinion in staying true to the heritage of this brand, this is evident in the videos and photography of the Morris & co x H&M collection. Why not take a peek of the full collection by clicking HERE.
Right lets get started on this polo-neck top. Once I started browsing through the collection I came across this gorgeous print, I knew straight away that this was the print for me. I then wanted the matching skirt and unfortunately it was sold out. Now why am I surprised I guess I was hoping they had one left in my size. Anyway I am very pleased with my top even though a little disappointed at the fact I couldn’t purchase the skirt. The top feels so soft to touch and fits me snuggly. What a wonderful addition to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe.
When it came to styling this roll-neck top I opted to go for an all black look. Therefore letting the top do all the talking and make the statement I was looking for. The black wrapover twill skirt is from the H&M Studio Collection. A knee length skirt in sturdy, bonded twill with a slight sheen. There is a Tab with a metal buckle at the waist and the wrapover is secured in place with inner buttons. The skirt also has side pockets and an asymmetric hem at the front and is lined. By the way this is currently on sale and the have a few sizes left HERE.
Next and onto my blazer which is from Karen Millen. This is an oversized blazer with leather detailing around the neck area. Tailored perfectly in my opinion with a single button fastening at the front centre. Karen Millen can’t do no wrong when it comes to outerwear. Year after year they always pull it out the bag with the style and fit of their pieces.
Moving onto my boots and to these velvet black pair from Kurt Geiger which I have been wearing on repeat for the last few weeks or so. This is in the Reign Style and features a light top stitching, a slick pointed toe. Adore a pointed toe over a rounded one, who else is with me on this? It also has a concealed zip which features a gold-tone puller, this ties in beautifully with the gold-tone ribbed cylindrical heel. Just the thing to finish of the boots by offsetting against the pitch black uppers.
Onto the finishing touches and to this black bag which is also from Karen Millen. A handy little bag with buckle details on the side just ideal for this look. As for my sunglasses I grabbed these frameless mirrored aviators in the Prince Ltd style from Le Specs. On my lips I wore my matt nude lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy bear. Finishing off the look I put on my gold Cylinder ring from AUrate New York.
