Good morning everyone, todays attire is on these ME+EM transformer trousers and this H&M shirt from their conscious collection. It’s a gloomy morning and I have the lights still on as it’s that dark. Trying not to dwell too much on the weather as I sit here tapping away at my keyboard. Now I am a firm favourite of mixing things up but also staying in line with what suits me. With that in mind I knew that the minute I saw these pair of transformer trousers very aptly named may I add, I knew I had to have them.
Growing up as a tomboy I used to always borrow my older brothers tops and shirts, so this androgynous look isn’t something new to me. If anything I think I am a little more conservative these days then I was when I was younger. Three years ago mixing men’s and womenswear on the runway was seen as a bold statement and unfamiliar. Here we are today and it has moved on with designers producing gender neutral collections. Take the likes of Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Charles Jeffrey to name a few.
Jean Paul Gautier and Alexander McQueen were mixing it up way before and merging men’s and women’s fashion on the catwalk. More brands like Tom Ford, Balenciga and J.W Anderson have followed suit and went for co-ed for the first time this year. We saw Jaden Smith wear a skirt in the SS17 campaign for Louis Vuitton and just a few days ago our very own Cara Delevingne wore a top hat and tail to the royal wedding. Which I was drooling over and she looked amazing in the outfit, take a look here if you missed it.
Right lets get started on these ME+EM transformer trousers with braces. Can I just begin with saying the fit of these trousers are second to none. It’s been a while since I have come across a pair of trousers that looks great and fits me perfectly. The trousers comes with these double-sided braces. On one side it has a high-shine satin for elevated lux, and on the other a textured fabric so the braces don’t slip off. Also has a high-shine waistband and can be worn cropped by folding up the hem and buttoning it. Or you can leave them undone like I have here. A perfect pair of trousers either for the office or for a night out.
Next I decided to style the ME+EM transformer trousers with this bib front shirt from H&M. The shirt is from their Conscious collection and is made from organic cotton weave. It comes with a stand-up collar with concealed button at the tip and a tab with a button at the back. At the front of the shirt it has these raw edges and concealed buttons. Love that it is slightly longer at the back, the sleeves are long too with folding buttoned cuffs.
Moving onto my boots and to these beautiful ankle pair from Kurt Geiger. What I absolutely adore about these boots are the cylindrical heel, which has a gold-tone ribbed finish, just the thing for offsetting the pitch black uppers. They are in the style Reign and come in the velvet material and features a light top stitching, a slick pointed toe, a concealed zip which features a gold-tone puller. I could have easily paired the transformer trousers with some trainers/sneakers for a more casual look.
I then grabbed my Pippa Modalu England crossbody bag in the colour shark. A cute little bag which is so stunning and beautifully crafted. It is available in an array of modern colours and expertly crafted in the highest quality materials. Impeccably designed in three timeless styles: the classic, mini and chained crossbody, the collection is a combination of versatility and seamless craftsmanship. Here I am holding it rather than wearing it crossbody.
For the finishing touches I wore my Le Specs sunglasses in the Rapture design. One of my favourite cat-eye sunglasses, in my opinion you really can’t go wrong with Le Specs sunglasses. They are so reasonably priced and look spectacular on! Sorry couldn’t resist the pun…
Finally finishing off my look with my matt lipstick from Lime Crime Velvetines in the shade Teddy Bear. A gorgeous mauve nude that I have been wearing constantly, it is down to it’s last drop now. Time to repurchase another one and at the same time to try out a different brand of nude matt lipsticks I think. I have had my eye on the new Fenty ones so I shall be looking to purchase a few. Stay tuned and I shall let you know how I get on with them!
Here are a few more trousers in the similar style to the ME+EM ones:
