Good morning everyone, todays attire takes its cues from the Band tee, this isn’t anything new. Worn originally to rock concerts and more to support our favourite bands. However, they have since become a fully fledged fashion item. Fashion’s graphic tee obsession is going nowhere fast and the stars are totally on board, if their rock tees are anything to go by. From the likes of Kendall Jenner who has been seen rocking the Gucci AC/DC Tee to Alessandra Ambrosio wearing the Pink Floyd one.
So with that in mind I decided I would style an outfit around my Thirty Seconds to Mars Tee. A huge fan of the multi talented Jared Leto and of course his band too! So when it came to purchasing a Band tee I headed straight to their website. There are a multitude of Band tees out there, you really are spoilt for choice. Now when it comes to styling the tees you can either style it up or down which ever takes your fancy and what works for you.
Before getting onto my attire at hand here is a little insight as to what has been happening in Mum Life. It has been a rather busy weekend to say the least, it’s one of those ones where you need another weekend just to recover. From attending football/soccer games back to back to visiting my brother in-laws. One has just had another baby and the other one has just moved into a new house with his family. At least they were only five minutes drive of each other. After all that I still had to get the boys school uniform ready and make sure they all finished their weekend homework too! So glad that there wasn’t a birthday party to attend this weekend as well, phew.
Lets get started with the Tee, the whole look is based around this Band tee. I wanted to style up this look and therefore opted for a monochromatic outfit. This Thirty Seconds To Mars tee, I happen to purchase from their official website. A vintage 2017 tour tee which comes with the bands logo and in the colour black. It has frayed detailing around the short sleeves and the neck. Now of course you could easily style down with a pair of jeans, some trainers/sneakers and a blazer. But here I wanted to show you a different take by styling the Band tee with a pair of high waisted trousers.
So on to these high waisted skinny trousers in the on trend Autumn colour tan/brown. They are from Zara, and as you know I absolutely love a pair of high waisted trouser, actually anything high waisted works for me. Anyone else interested in high waisted garments? The trousers feature front pockets as well as false welt pockets in the back. The side pockets have buttons on them and there is a front zip and top button fastening. Such a great pair of trousers that feel and look great in my opinion.
Next and onto my knee length ruched black boots from Karen Millen. These are from an old season but I adore the mix of the two materials, they come in suede and patent. The two material compliment each other really well. It is in the sock style which is still going strong and in my opinion elevates the overall look.
To tie in with the tan/brown hue I opted for my vintage Stuart Weitzman bag for Russell and Bromley. I bought this bag way back in 2001, yes thats how old it is! It’s a nod to the Dior saddle bag. How on trend and appropriate is this bag! As you all would have seen unless you have been hiding under a rock the Dior saddle bags are currently very popular! The bag has a cork effect all over it with some gold details which ties in beautifully with my gold accessories. The bag fastens with a metallic clasp and is big enough for all my essentials.
Right onto my accessories and to my gold cylinder ring from AUrate New York. AUrate are a fine jewellery no concessions company, based in New York. They have high quality, fair priced and ethically sourced jewellery. Their focus is on durable materials, transparent pricing, sustainable production, and tangible giving. Whats not to love about them, take a look here.
As for my watch it’s a vintage Gucci, my go to watch which I wear on a regular basis. My sunglasses are from Hashtag sunglasses and are in the aviator style Absolutely with yellow tinted lens. On my lips I wore the shade Teddy Bear from Lime Crime velvetines. Richly pigmented matt lipstick, a French vanilla-infused formula which glides on as a liquid and dries down to a luxurious, velvety matte finish that lasts for hours and hours.
Before heading out I threw over my shoulders my camel coloured coat from Karen Millen. Yes another Karen Millen piece, such a gorgeous coat which I purchased last year. A camel coat is must in my opinion and you should own at least one in your wardrobe. A piece that can be worn time after time and is very evident in my posts. On top of that it is a beautiful coat that will keep you warm and looking great year after year. Yet another item from Karen Millen which has been tailored to near perfection. I cannot express how well this fits. Made from premium Italian fabric, which is evident as to how soft it feels.
To finish off my look I popped on my black fedora hat from Whistles. This just pulls the whole outfit together and also makes me look like I am about to go for a horse ride in the country!
