Good morning everyone here is my take on the animal print trend. Now not to be confused with the tiger print, zebra is the low-key version of animal stripes, thanks to its monochrome tones. So if you are unsure about wearing the animal print why not start off with a small injection and then go on from there.
How are we all doing this fine chilly morning? Well it is here in London, as I sit here tapping away at my keyboard I have the urge to turn the heating on as I am feeling rather cold. The temperature has plummeted and I am reluctant to put on the heating, as this will mean that summer is over. Therefore I shall wait a little longer, for now I am going to layer up and hope it will warm up later on.
Lets get started on this animal print trend. Headlining in New York from the likes of Tom Ford, Diane Von Furstenberg and Caroline Herrera to name a few. Trends lately have been coming and going and coming again. Take the animal print which is a hot favourite for Autumn/Winter 2018. If you are keen on this trend I would suggest getting your hands on one piece and in particular the leopard print coat. This is going to be one of those pieces that will remain and never go out of style. For sure they will be popular one season than another, but on the whole they will be a classic piece that form the cornerstones of our wardrobe.
On to my ensemble and to this beautiful Zebra print monokini from Karen Millen. This is from a few season back and with the animal print trend being so hot for Autumn/Winter, I have opted to start early and inject some animal print flare into my summer outfits. Ultimately I shall moving onto my Autumn looks and therefore incorporating some leopard prints into my wardrobe. This is a well fitted monokini with a halter neck tie, which has padded cups which I always appreciate.
For some pool side glamour I have opted to pair it with my Zara black kimono. Such a gorgeous Kimono which is ideal as a cover up and instantly glams up my overall look. The floral design adds another dimension to the Kimono and the velvet material adds some texture.
Next and onto my Espadrilles which are also from Zara. I adore a pair of wedge espadrilles and this lace up pair is just the perfect pair for a pool party. The criss cross lace-up detail is just so pretty and the black lace keeps in theme with my monochromatic look.
For some shade and added glamour I wore my Whistles black fedora hat. This hat got so much wear on this trip and I could not have been happier with my purchase. Next I grabbed my Le Specs Rapture Cat-Eye sunglasses.
Finally the finishing touches, firstly my Lime Crime Velvetines lipstick in the shade Red Velvet. I always find wearing a red lipstick always amps up my overall look and this shade is one of my favourite. Completing my look I wore the shade “I believe in Manicure” on my nails from OPI.
Here are few more animal prints to get your hands on.
The Snake Print: This was very popular in Milan fashion week with the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta and Fendi to name a few. All in an array of garments, ranging from dresses, coats, trousers, bags and shoes.
The Leopard Print: This super versatile print is already hailed as the top print for Autumn/Winter 2018. Despite being a common print, leopard prints popularity began with Christian Dior and his muse and inspiration Mitzah bricard. So during the 50’s Mitzah was fascinated by the leopard print. And as a result of this Christian Dior created a range of his accessories featuring the design and elevating leopard to be the must-have print of the moment.
The Tiger Print: This print is very similar to the zebra print, apart from the obvious black and white stripes. Here you can go all out and make a bold statement either in a dress or a coat. For a more subtle look why not opt for a pair of sunglasses.
