Good morning everyone, hope you are all well. I was so thrilled to have received this black Puzzle cut out tummy swimsuit from Figleaves just before I was heading out to Cyprus on our vacation/holiday. You know what they say about black, well It’s the oldest fashion trick in the book. The shade/colour can help give you a more slimming appearance and flatter you in all the right places. Such a classic hue and a popular colour/shade when it comes to choosing swimwear. What surprised me was that I assumed Figleaves catered for more curvier figures. I was very much surprised when I received my swimsuit and how well it fit me. The swimsuits have built-in control and come in all sizes from small to plus size cups and of course in an array of on-trend styles.
In Mum Life back home in London and for once no holiday blues for the boys as the weather here has been amazing. Although a bit unbearable specially at night time as its very humid and sticky to sleep. We have all the windows open and our fans on too, but to no avail. We don’t have air conditioning in our homes in the UK as most of the time it’s not that hot. Anyway shouldn’t complain as this is very rare.
The boys have been booked in for tennis, football and swimming activities to keep them busy. Eli has been engrossed in this game called Fortnite and if he had his way he would be on it for hours. Who else can relate? I limit the time amount of time he can play the game for, and as long as he has finished all the other activities I don’t mind him playing it.
Zeke and Wyatt are more into Minecraft but the same rule applies to them too. They can be on there for ours building their houses, hotels etc. It’s very difficult as a parent when we live in a time where technology is everything. I am on the phone constantly whether its catching up on emails or catching up on social media. So telling them that they shouldn’t be on electronics can sometimes seem hypocritical. I always tell them there has to be a balance between doing physical activities, holiday homework and being on electronics. As long as they follow that I am somewhat fine with it!
Let get back to my gorgeous black swimsuit from Figleaves. I received this in my blogger mail and was very surprised that firstly it fit me because their smallest size is a UK 8 and I am a 4/6. A size 8 would normally be too big for me. Apart from being a little loose around the waist it was just the right fit. Love how simple it is with just a touch of edge to it with the cut out tummy. Very flattering and on a plus side the cups are padded which is always a bonus for me. Or else I have a whole nipple situation going on? Anyone else have that or is it just me? Check out their swimwear collection (here).
Pairing black with white stripe shorts gives this ensemble a beautiful monochrome look. These striped paper high waisted shorts are from Zara and I adore how versatile they are. Also the fact that I can wear this outfit for a spot of lunch is just so ideal. One of my favourite kind of outfits to wear whilst on vacation/holiday is a pair of high waited shorts with my swimsuit. One of the easiest outfits to style and also means less item of clothing to pack for the vacation/holiday. Having said that I always tend to over pack anyway!
Next I put on my black tie up thong style sandals from Carvela @Kurtgeiger. This pair is a few years old but is just perfect for the hot climate, love how it is just a little different than your everyday thong. The fact that they come in the tie up style is just what I love, obviously I can’t get enough of shoes with tie ups!
Sunglasses are a must as the sun was just beating down and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. This white oval pair is from River Island and I call them my Willy Wonker sunglasses. Just love the ever so slight touch of Mod style they give off.
The finishing touches included me wearing the shade Red Velvet from Lime Crime Velvetines. Just the right shade of red for me which here I wore with MAC Ruby Woo lipliner to give me a more intense and fuller lips. As for my nails I wore the shade “I Believe In Manicure’ from OPI nails. As for my jewellery I am wearing my stud ball earrings and cylinder ring from AUrate New York – Fine Jewellery, no concessions.
Finally before heading off to lunch I grabbed my Whistles black fedora hat. Stylish and practical at keeping the sun at bay and off my forehead. Here I am channelling my inner Michael Jackson (Billy Jean) for the poses, It really wasn’t intentional, also not as great as his. I am beach ready and lunch ready, boys thank you for being patient whilst the pictures were taken! A huge thank you to my husband who perservered even though he was literally melting whilst taking the pictures.
Here a few more black cut out swimsuits:
