What To Wear To High Tea
So as you may know we went to Cyprus for our holiday/vacation this year. Therefore, I decided I would pack all my favourite dresses that I had purchased recently and get as much content done as possible. One of my favourite brands at the moment is Mr Self-Portrait. I mean I have always adored the brand but recently I have been drawn to purchasing more and more items from there, dresses in particular.
Firstly I was looking for a dress to wear to Eli’s end of year High Tea Party. So when it came to choosing a dress I knew that this white midi dress was the one for me and was just perfect for the occasion. After ordering it online I didn’t have to wait long for delivery as it was delivered the next day. I was super excited when I received the package and could not wait to unbox it straight away. I really could not wait to try it on and see how it looked!

The High Tea party that I attended with Eli was a way for all the prep school teachers to say goodbye to the year six pupils. It was a very nice way to finish off the school year for the children. I had a wonderful time and it was so nice to see all the children mingling. They were all very excited about the school disco which they were attending later that evening.
Right… so lets get started on this gorgeous Broderie anglaise cotton white midi dress from Mr Self-Portrait. Where do I begin, its just the perfect dress in my opinion for a Tea party. It is the right length for me falling just below the knee. I’m also loving the pockets too which has these beautiful buttons on them.
Next on to the shoes and these Carina Espadrilles from Castaner. I bought these from Net-A-Porter and this is my third pair, previously I bought black ones. Just love a tie up pair of shoes, these are in the colour stone, however they have a variety of other colours too. Sticking to the neutral tones the Carina espadrilles works so well with this ensemble and keeps to the neutral theme I was going for.
Moving on to my bag and this cute little Pippa mini in the colour shark from Modalu England. The bag is made from shiny croc embossed leather and has triple compartments with a zip top enclosure. You can also wear the bag crossbody too! The Modalu Pippa collection is named after Pippa Middleton and is an iconic addition to any wardrobe. The bag has been been crafted from the highest quality of leather. It is available in the classic, mini grab and crossbody styles. A staple for every occasion and comes in a range of hues and textures.
As it was a glorious sunny day, I grabbed my Le Specs sunglasses in the Rapture style. I really don’t need it to be sunny to wear my sunglasses as you all know by now. These oversized cat-eye sunglasses are one of my favourites. If you prefer the skinny cat-eye styles then take a look here as Le Specs does a variety of different colours in them. The most sought after The Last Lolita being very popular amongst Influencers and celebrities alike. I’m after a white pair in this style!
My lipstick… yep you have guessed it. If not it’s the shade Teddy Bear from Lime Crime. A beautiful nude matt lipstick which works so well with my skin tone. So in love with this shade of nude I really can’t get enough of it. My nails are in the colour ‘I believe in manicure” from OPI. It’s in a blue shade which was inspired by the Tiffany blue. This gorgeous colour gives the whole overall look that subtle pop of colour.
Finally my jewellery, the ring and studs are from AUrate New York. AUrate fine jewellery – no concessions, is of high quality. Also ethically sourced (no conflict materials), highly sustainable and is made in New York. The jewellery is fairly priced since they sell directly to their consumers and not through third parties. I for one love my cylinder ring and studs and have been wearing them on repeat since I received them. A unique gold ring that ties in beautifully with my watch.
My watch is from Gucci and I have had it for a number of years now. I can’t tell you how much I adore this watch, its part of my daily outfit. I have had other watches and always end up going back to wearing my Gucci one. It’s very small in size, therefore might be one reason why I wear it all the time. Another reason is because its my first designer watch my husband bought for me straight out of university. So very sentimental too me and the fact that it work with all my outfits, just makes it a must!
High Tea is a favourite now a days whether its for a baby shower or for a wedding. The event is the epitome of feminine, ladylike style. From artisanal teas to award winning cakes, this event is the quintessential female get-together. A day full of finger sandwiches, cakes, culture and of course catching up with each other. But how do you dress for a prim and proper occasion? After all, a High Tea really is one of the ultimate day time events.
Depending on which hotel you venture into for your High Tea, most dress codes are smart and casual. For me I always like to make an effort and wear a midi dress for the occasion. Us women have it easier then the gents who have to wear a jacket and a tie in most establishments. Jeans are not permitted for either sex.
